JME Creations: Happy New Year

Should old acquaintance be forgot... I am kind of sad as this is my last project for this year and I had such fun with it. Does anyone remember Rudolph's Shiny New Year? Well, I used to love to watch this and there is a picture of myself and my cousin Louie dressed as Father Time and Baby New Year in 1979 going into 1980. So in memoriam to my wonderful cousin, here is my card:
I used the Marvy puffy paint for his diaper and he was cut from one my Cricut cartridges. I had to draw in the facial features and cut his hat from the Create a Critter cartridge. Red Stickles adorn his hat. Wishing you all a Happy New Year. Until next time....

Oh Say it isn't so....

but it is :D Guess what?? The Creative Memories sale is extended to Jan 1, 2012. So you still have time to order!! You can read about it here in this POST. Guess what else?? I managed to squeak in one more project before the New Year came. It is the Scrappy Jak card of the month kit and I kept it simple this month. She gave us a white A2 card base and a die cut from My Creative Time. The card was within my realm but the lollipop die stumped me. Then I thought that it would make the best Hershey Candy Cane kiss holder next to the holiday plates. Everyone is always looking for mints after dinner so this was ideal! Here are my projects:

The paper is from a swap that is organized by my friend Tina on Facebook. I love the happy little trees (I loved Bob Ross ). The circles and the starbursts are also from My Creative Time. Thanks to Scrappy Jak for being a wonderful friend and inspiration to me :) Until next time....

Guest Designer Thursday: LadyLuvBug

Good morning all and I pray that you all had wonderful holidays wherever you were. I was fortunate to have my parents this year and it was FABULOUS! Of course family is not without drama so I am going to work on that in 2012. Today's Guest Designer is Janet AKA LadyLuvBug. Janet and I have been friends on Facebook for the past few months and her creativity astounds me. I don't want to delay showing you what she made with the Cricut Tis the Season Exclusive cartridge she purchased from my site. Heeeerrrrreeeeee'ssssss Janet:

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~**~*~*~*~*~**~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Hello everyone, I am so excited to be filling in this Guest Designer Spot on Susan's Blog!

Susan and I have become friends over the past few months and I enjoy her work and working with her on projects. I recently purchased the Cricut cartridge "Tis The Season" a Creative Memories exclusive and after the first cut fell in love with it. It has been my go to cartridge for this holiday season. I used it to decorate some plain white sacks I purchased at Michael's. Every year I give the nurses I work with a "treat" bag filled with the things we use and loose the most at work along with a gift in a jar treat. I enjoy decorating the bags and so today's project is a peak at the bags I created this year I created 5 different designs this year four of which are featured here. All the cuts were from the "Tis the Season" cartridge and are super simple to put together. Most of the card stock is Recollections from Michael's and the patterned paper is from my enormous collection of paper. ( I am a paperholic).

I hope you enjoy my little treat bags. Thanks to Susan for giving me the GD spot and thanks to everyone who stops by and says Hello!

Hugs Janet aka LadyLuvBug!

Do you Miss Me?

I certainly miss myself! My parents have been here since Friday and I am running ragged. Lots to do to prepare for Christmas. Today we shop for the food. All the presents have been wrapped (it is a lean Christmas as I am now out of work for 7 months) and we are looking forward to the time together. For all my bloggie friends who celebrate, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah or Happy Kwanzaa. If you don't celebrate than a happy day to you :)

I have not had anytime to create except for my hubby and kids; their Christmas cards. I hope to get my mojo back for the New Year. Maybe someone will find it under the tree
I wanted to share with you some phenomenal sales that are coming up with Creative Memories. You definitely do not want to miss this. You will be able to view them on my site on the 28th. You can save 20-50% off selected products. Available now though is some wonderful Idea Books and Page Planners. I have seen the page planner in action and it is a wonderful tool that will allow you to create beautiful pages in a shorter amount of time.

Now on to the winner of my It's My Party giveaway. From the orders, the winner of the special Creative Memories prize is Janet Smith! Congratulations Janet and I will be sending out your package right after the holidays.

Well, off to continue on with the holiday preparations. Until next time....

It's a Sweet Stamping Treats Christmas....

Hi all, today is my chance to represent for Sweet Stamping Treats Design Team. I love Christmas and pretty boxes. Well, I am always in need of boxes so I decided to make my own. I used the Shaker box cut from the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cut with Stampin' Up Christmas paper. It was perfect for this digi stamp. I love angels also so I used it to make this:
I used my new Marvy Liquid Applique pen to accent the clouds. I am loving this product! I hope you enjoyed  my project and that you head over to Sweet Stamping Treats to check out the wonderful new stamps. Until next time....

It is double the fun today....

Hi all and welcome to Susana's Scrappin' Corner. Today I do not have one special guest but two! My first guest designer is the fabulous Miss Kari of PurpleFuntastick Creations. What a great project she has for you today. So here is Miss Kari:

Today I am Susan's guest designer on Susana's Corner so please give the love to both of us...I completely forgot this GD post and so I came up with something quick which makes it a nice last minute gift for anyone...and today I did a gift that can keep for all year around and you can do many things with this...I want it to be simple for a friend I am giving it to but I know of another I planned to make and I am going to bling it up...hehe...

You know those magnet clear picture plastic frames you can buy for a buck or a pack for a couple of dollars...this is what I do to give inexpensively so that way my thought is out there...here is what they look like plain and you can put a whole lot because of the space btw the plastic parts of it.

But I choose to do a confetti cardstock and stamped some images on them and chalked it up to make it soft and then let it all dry and voila put in the frame and they can hang this on their fridge or where ever there is a magnetic feature.  Pretty easy peasy but nice for stockings and tree hangings even...something to think about the other one I am going to show later..I am going to add a different kind of image and put some bling on the plastic...oh yea...

Yep you will have to come back and see that one...hehe...

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day friends! :)

Thanks to Kari for her wonderful gift idea! Can you imagine the possiblilities?

Our other guest today came from one of my Creative Memories customers, Janet. She has been doing great things with the Tis the Season gift bag. Here is what she has to share with us:

She said:

"Hi everyone. Susan was so kind to post my Gift Bag project on her Blog. Thanks you Susan! I used my newest favorite Holiday Cricut Cartridge  "Tis The Season" from Creative Memories. It is an awesome cartridge with loads of adorable as well as some elegant images, 2 fonts and lots of creative features. My little snow man was cut at 5 inches I believe and there were only 4 cuts ( 5 pieces) Easy cutting, layering and an adorable end result. I have already created 2 more projects with this cartridge and planning on many more! Did I say I love this cartridge!!

Hugs, Janet aka LadyLuvBug"

After I received permission to post this project, Janet came up with this second project using the same cartridge:

I just love seeing these products in action. Thanks to Janet for also being a source of inspiration. Should you wish to purchase the EXCLUSIVE Tis the Season Cricut Cartridge you can click HERE for more information, images and purchase information. If you would like to see all of the EXCLUSIVE cartridges available, you can click HERE. Well off to anticipate my parents arrival and a whirlwind week. Until next time...

    For my online friends, you can shop on my personal website HERE or you can email your order HERE. Should you choose to email your order, please put "Creative Memories Order" in the subject line. I know that I am the type of person who catches those sales to print out all my pictures to scrap with. One time I had 250 pics printed and then sat and scratched my head how to sort and store them until I was ready to scrapbook that event. Well, Creative Memories gave me the solution!

    The Reflections Power Sort Box is not only useful but also so very pretty! Use the decorative Power® Sort Box to help you safely store, organize and transport up to 1,200 photos. Like our original Power Sort Box, the inside is black and contains a storage sleeve inside the cover to safely hold flat memorabilia or even panoramic photos. Six divided Compartment Boxes and Dividers allow you to sort to your heart's desire-by big events, family members, chronologically and more.

    If you don't have enough room to bring your entire Power Sort to your next big scrapbooking event, use one or both Compartment Covers paired with the Compartment Boxes, which allow you to transport up to 400 photos. It comes with the following:

    * 1 Power Sort Box
    * 6 Compartment Boxes
    * 2 Compartment Box Covers
    * 6 Power Sort Dividers
    * Inside cover storage sleeve
    * Instruction booklet

    There are other photo organizers as well that you can view HERE.

    For my friends that digital scrapbook (where you use you digital prints), there is an organizer for you as well. Memory Manager 3.0 can be used to easily organize, cross-reference and fine-tune your digital photos so they’re ready for your next project when you are. You can order it as a CD to be shipped to your home HERE or as a download directly to your computer HERE.

    Christmas Recipe and Christmas Cards Blog Hop, Round 2 (Dec. 10-11)

    Welcome to Round Two of the Christmas Cards & Cookies Blog Hop! You should have come from April's blog. If you are starting here and wish to hop from the beginning of the hop, please visit Dena’s blog. There was so much response to the Christmas Cards & Cookies Blog Hop that it had to be split between two weekends. Round One was held last weekend. Round Two is this weekend, beginning on Saturday, Dec. 10th, through Sunday, Dec. 11th. We have a talented group of women who love papercrafting and baking. Each of them is sharing a recipe for a yummy Christmas treat along with a Christmas card or tag. Hopefully, you’ll pick up some great ideas for your own Christmas gift giving this season. So, grab a cup of coffee, sit back, and enjoy!

    My project today is based on my favorite Christmas treat, Struffoli (aka Italian Honey Cakes). I wish I could say I got to make these but I ran out of time. Here is a picture of this yummy dessert:

    I can take a spoon and just eat this all day! Here is the recipe I use:

    Ingredients
    • 10 large eggs
    • 16 ounces honey
    • 1 cup margarine
    • 4 cups flour, sifted
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 2 cups water
    • Optional decorations such as: sprinkles, silver balls, candied fruits, toasted pine nuts, or anything else you like!
    Directions
    1. First, pre-heat the oven to 350°F, and then rease two baking sheets or line them with parchment paper.
    2. Next, place water, margarine and salt in a large saucepan and bring to a boil. After that, remove from heat and let stand as the margarine melts in the hot water. Stir in the flour and mix well. Return the saucepan to medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture starts to form a ball and pull away from the sides of the pan. This should take about 1 minute. Remove from the heat and let it cool in the pot.
    3. After that, add the eggs to the mixture, one at a time, and beat using an electric mixture or a wooden spoon (the beating has to be vigorous to fully incorporate the eggs). When all the eggs are incorporated, put the mixture into a pastry bag and pipe tiny balls onto the pastry sheets; the balls should be the size of marbles, or just a little bigger. If you do not have a pastry bag, you can put the dough in a sealable plastic bag and cut out one corner’s tip and pipe them out that way (just make sure that your dough is cool!).
    4. Meanwhile, bake for about 25 minutes, or until lightly browned. Remove the balls from the oven and let cool on wire racks.
    5. And then, in a large saucepan, heat the honey until it boils. Let it boil for 5 minutes, but don’t leave the stove and be careful that it does not boil over.
    6. Next, if it starts to boil up, lower the heat. Dip the puffs in the honey. You can throw 10-12 balls in at once. Make sure they are evenly coated in honey, then scoop them out with a slotted spoon and put them onto a plate.
    7. Lastly, once all of the balls have been dipped and removed, you can wet your hands and start working on your artistic side. Take the balls and form them into a mound or a wreath on another clean plate. Then finish off the masterpiece with some decorative touches like sprinkles or candied fruit.
    8. Struffoli is ready to serve!

    My project will be given out on Christmas Day next to each person's plate. The stamp is from RAK from my FB friend Tina and I just had to use it :)

    I write the ingredients on side one and the directions on side 2. The holly stamp is from my Fiskars set and I used my new liquid applique pen from Marvy to frost Gingy. His eyes are the Opaque Licorice pearls from CTMH. I cut this tag envelope at 7 inches from Cricut's Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge.

    Thanks so much for stopping by! Please be sure to visit Tami's blog next to see what she has to share with you.

    Until next time.....

    Crafty Card Gallery's Chopped Challenge 2

    Hi all and welcome to Jen's Chopped Challenge #2. It was so nice that we did it twice . Well, I had this amazing visual in my head of how my card was going to be but it required the Forever Young cartridge. Well, since I am on hiatus from regular employment I could not buy it and no one I knew had it. So I decided to get my dusty drawing skills out. I totally paper pieced this card using all the supplies that Jen sent. Here is my first Valentine's card:
    The stamp in the background is from Stampin' Up. Everything else is from the supplies that I received. Thanks Jen for another fun challenge :) Until next time...

    We're Having a Party, Day Four

    *** If you are looking for my Guest Designer post for Docerela's Creatiobs, click HERE***

    Welcome to Day 4 of the festivities. I wanted to host a party to share these wonderful products with you and I am so excited!!! I will be sharing a product a day that will make wonderful gifts for yourself or a special someone.

    For my online friends, you can shop on my personal website HERE or you can email your order HERE. Should you choose to email your order, please put "Creative Memories Order" in the subject line. For those who are local (NJ), I would be happy to host a crop where you can do a make it and take it project using a wonderful tool. The best part is that everyone who orders will get a small thank you gift from me. As an added bonus, everyone who orders will have their name entered into a drawing for a special Creative Memories gift. My party will run from December 6th and order taking will end 10:00PM ET on December 14th. Even though you have 5 days to shop don't delay.

    Today I wanted to showcase THE Home Decor item that is for everyone. Whether you are a paper crafter or not, you can use the Magnetic Everyday Display Frame in your home. It is an elegant way to display your photos, cards, concert tickets, etc. The possibilities are endless. The Everyday Display frame comes in two sizes, 3 colors and two styles.

    The larger size comes is white, black (pictured above) and chocolate. These are 18" x 18" frames that include 6 decorative magnets, ribbon and decorative miniature clothespin to accent what you wish to display.

    Product Image
    The smaller size pictured above (Nancy O'Dell Mini Magnetic Everyday Display) has a 8 1/2" x 8 1/2" fabric covered magnetic board and a wall hanger or easel back to suit your needs.
    Product Image

    The last set is our Sleek Everyday Magnetic Display Board in white or black (pictured above). These frames are 16" x 18" and can be hung horizontally or vertically.

    Here are some examples of things you can do with these amazing items (no matter what the size):

    Creative Memories even has a 2012 Calendar Display Accents that will help you keep your schedule visible and organized. It even comes with 6 paper embellishments and reminder stickers (see below):

    So what do you think? Is this something that you can see hanging in your home? I can tell you that my fellow consultant went to a hostess' house for a Creative Memories party and put one on each table. The ladies attending (some who had never paper crafted before) took the paper and embellishments provided and made the most beautiful frames. If they can, so can you and, if you need any help, I am only a phone call or email away.

    Now, just as a reminder, if you place an order between now and 10:00 PM ET December 14th (either online HERE or via email HERE) you will receive a small thank you gift from me. As an added BONUS your name will be entered to win a special Creative Memories gift. So don't put off tomorrow what you can do today. Don't forget to check back tomorrow for another great tool (this one is a great home decor item). Until next time...

    Guest Designer: Docerela Creations

    Greetings all and welcome to my guest designer spot for Docerela Creations. We are Jersey neighbors and I am so happy to have been asked to be a guest designer today. The theme is Pink Christmas and I am amazed that Pink and Blue are the new "in" Christmas colors. Here is the stamp set that will be given away to the winner of the challenge:

    My parents had a pink tree way back in the 60's. Of course I was born in 1969 so I did not see it so for my card I imagined it! Here is my card:

    Do you see the ceramic trees? Well, the one on the left is one I made my parents years ago. The one on the right was made by my Mom many many moons ago. They are a little worse for wear but I would not part with them. Here is the recipe that I used:

    * Close to My Heart Christmas Cheer Stamp Set

    * Blue paper is from Close to My Heart

    * Crayola pencils, Stampin' Up markers, and Sakura gel pens

    * Studio G Pink Pigment Ink

    * Pink paper is from my scrap pile

    In case you get lost along the way, here is the lineup for today:

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Welcome to Day 3 of the festivities. I wanted to host a party to share these wonderful products with you and I am so excited!!! I will be sharing a product a day that will make wonderful gifts for yourself or a special someone.
    For my online friends, you can shop on my personal website HERE or you can email your order HERE. Should you choose to email your order, please put "Creative Memories Order" in the subject line. For those who are local (NJ), I would be happy to host a crop where you can do a make it and take it project using a wonderful tool. The best part is that everyone who orders will get a small thank you gift from me. As an added bonus, everyone who orders will have their name entered into a drawing for a special Creative Memories gift. My party will run from December 6th and order taking will end 10:00PM ET on December 14th. Even though you have 6 days to shop don't delay.
    Today I am sharing one of the first tools I have used from Creative Memories; the Custom Cutting System. This tool gave me so much more creativity when working with my photos. First and foremost, you will need the 12 x 12 cutting mat and the specially encased blades
    I have personally used all of the following patterns to cut my photos in decorative shapes: Circle patterns, Oval patterns and the Gemstone Patterns
    The features on these are incredible:
  • Translucent pattern allows you to see where you cut
  • Rubber feet prevent pattern from sliding while in use
  • There are 3 patterns (for the 3 different blades) so you have 3 size options
  • This makes matting  (or double matting) your photos a breeze.
    There is also an organization system that can hold all your supplies. You can view it HERE.
    Here is an example of pages made with this fun tool:
    This one was made with the Jumbo Blooming Star Pattern.
    If you want to see all the parts to the Custom Cutting System, you can click HERE. I can assure you that you won't be disappointed.
    Remember that if you place an order between now and 10:00 PM ET December 14th (either online HERE or via email HERE) you will receive a small thank you gift from me. As an added BONUS your name will be entered to win a special Creative Memories gift. So don't put off tomorrow what you can do today. Don't forget to check back tomorrow for another great tool (this one is a great home decor item). Until next time...
