Lynne's Mad Hatter 60th Birthday Tea Party, Day 2 (Jan 29th)

Welcome to Day Two of Lynne's Mad Hatter 60th Birthday Tea Party Blog Hop --- don't be late for this very important date and just to be sure you're not late, we're serving tea for not one day but two!! Watch out for rabbit holes, and those drink me and eat me potions as you must do them in moderation. You'll never know what you will see beyond the looking glass --- sew, sit down a spell and enjoy the talented ladies as we hop along in Wonderland. Warning, watch out for the Queen of Hearts as she is losing in the game of croquet and its off with your heads!!!!!

Rather than cake, crumpetts, tarts and cookies, we have blog candy and I mean some sweet treats that are being offered by our great sponsors:
  1. Pat Catan's has donated a $25 gift card for shopping at their store, if there isn't a Pat Catan's in your area, we can transfer that out for you
  2. Karber Digital Images at http://www.karberdigital.com/ has offered 2 digital designs of the winner's choice
  3. Digi My World at http://digimyworld.com/shop/ has offered a $10 gift card
  4. SVG Attic at http://www.svgattic.com/ has offered a $20 gift certificate
  5. PSA Stamps at www.psastamps.com.blogspot.com has offered a 1 stamper, 2 Peel & Stick packs of winner's choice. MSRP for each package is $55.

  7. Deborah Marie Foti of http://www.scrappingmamma.net/ will make one of her original birthday cards, Crafty Friends Sentiments Large Sheet by www.gettingcricky.com AND $10 Little Scraps of Heaven Designs Gift Certificate

To be eligible by posting you must comment and post on each stop of our tea party along the way --- now remember to hold your pinky out when drinking your tea --- will that be 1 lump or 2?

If you stopped at my blog to just visit today, I don't want you to miss a single thing along the way and you need to start at the beginning which is two hares by the Cheshire cat who is grinning at you and that darn caterpiller smoking her pipe at http://slasewcraftiness.blogspot.com/!!!

Today I decided that Lynne needed a scrapbook page to be able to put her pics from her birthday party on it. I knew I wanted to do Alice as she has blond hair and pretty like my Mammy. Of course I had to use special purply papers as we are Purplies together (DT that is). Here is my layout that I did at my all day crop today (I will be able to share some "All About Me " pages I did too soon).

The border punch is stamping up. Alice was a jpg that I resized and fussy cut. The purple pearls are from Want 2 Scrap and the ribbon is from my scrap pile. The background pape, flowers and photo mats are all from my scraps.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed your tea and crumpets and your next stop is not Twiddledee and Twiddledum but Jamie.

Since Lynne is my near and dear friend, I had to get really creative with this one . Well I just love the Doormouse at the Mad Hatter's Tea Party. I would have loved to have been Alice there. Maybe I can have an unbirthday party today while Lynne is celebrating hers? Well here is my card for Lynne:

The Teacup was cut from the Gypsy cartridge, Smiley Cards. The mouse is from Create a Critter. The heart border is cut with Creative Memories Double chain heart border cutting system (my new favorite tool!). If you are interested in owning this phenomenal tool, feel free to email me HERE. The quote on the saucer says:

"Twinkle, twinkle little bat
how I wonder where you're at..."

The inside says, "Hope you are out celebrating your birthday" Unfortunately Lynne is under the weather so please make sure you wish her Happy Birthday and get better soon on her blog (http://slasewcraftiness.blogspot.com/).

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed your tea and crumpets and your next stop is not Twiddledee and Twiddledum but Janet S.

Remember to stop by again tomorrow and check out all the tea parties!!!

Talented Friends of Crafty and Green Project #1

**If you are looking for PurpleFuntastick Design Team Post, Click HERE**
I cannot tell you how happy the two posts today have made me! Since starting my new job my craft time has been nil. Not one to shirk my responsibilities, I made sure that I got my projects done. Today's project is based on this sketch:
I had some pictures from my daughter's Memorial Day Marching Band Parade. I also got the Quarter Note cartridge for Christmas that I was itching to use. Here is my take on the sketch:

The corner notes were cut at 2 1/4" and the smaller notes were 1 3/4" for the shadow and 1 1/2" for the white part of the note. I used Red Stickles for the lettering. The border behind the pic is the newest Creative Memories Border Maker System cartridge, Double Heart Chain. As I stated in my other post, the border maker comes back in stock around Feb 8th. If you are interested in seeing how the border maker works, here is a video:

Thanks to Tina for having me today and for giving me the inspiration to preserve a memory. Until next time...

If you came here from Amy's blog you started in the right place. If you came upon my blog then please go to the beginning at Kari's because I want you to have a chance to win some blog candy. Don't want to miss the fun either! :)

So without further ado lets get the party started.  The only requirement made for this party was that everyone had to put a butterfly or butterflies in their creation."

Here is my card to celebrate this momentous occasion. Kari LOVES purple and she loves butterflies. I saw these butterflies in AC Moore and knew I had to have them for her card.

Of course she will have a little something in the card as well as a special treat. I took some scrap paper that I had to assemble this card that I got in a swap. The white cardstock was already embossed to so I had to handwrite the sentiment. Congratulations to Miss Kari on her Blogaversary. I am a better person for knowing her and would not have missed this for the world!

Your next stop will be Kristen's blog. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you come and visit again soon :) Until next time.....

If you happened to visit my blog by accident, I want you to check out the complete hop by stopping first at the beginning of the birthday wishes! You should have come from visiting Barbara's blog. This is the present that I made for Tina's special day:

I found this frame at a major retail craft store and just new that I had to alter it. Tina is such a great inspiration to me and this phrase is all I wish for her. I took Jolee's Bling stickers and used them to accent the corners of the frame. I took out the picture in the frame and mounted white cardstock on Pink swirl vellum. I used a Stampin' Up stamp set to stamp the purple butterflies and sentiment.

Your next stop along wishing Tina the Big 3-0 Birthday Bash Blog Hop Wishes is my other wonderful friend, Ellen.

Thanks again for stopping and checking out my project for Tina today!!!! Happy Birthday Tina! Until next time....

This is day one so make sure that you come back tomorrow for Day Two (Tina will have to wait to see her actual present till then ). Here is the card that I made her:

I have been wanting to use this stamp set from Stampin' Up FOREVER and this is the first card that I made with it. Tina's favorite colors are purple and green and I used them. The white border is a Martha Stewart punch and I cut the green medallion from my Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge (at 3/5" x 3.5"). I stamped the game boards in Stampin' Up's Elegant Eggplant and added the spinner. I selected "Make a Wish" because everyone should wish for something special on their birthday. I colored the little motifs with my metallic gel pens.

Your next stop along wishing Tina the Big 3-0 Birthday Bash Blog Hop Wishes is my other wonderful friend, Ellen.

Thanks again for stopping and checking out my project for Tina today!!!! Happy Birthday Tina! Until next time....

"This is a double page layout using some pp I had in my stash.. Took this pics on the way home from work last Tuesday. This was our first real snow. It was about 4:45 at night. Happened to have my camera in the car. Snow flakes are from spellbinders and a MS punch. Some fun fur I also found in my stash. The embossed snowflakes on top are Sizzix folder. Stickles on this layer. I used page maps also for my design."

Thanks so much to Laura for being my guest designer today. Remember to hop through the Muppets blog hop as it is a load of fun. Until next time....

Don't you just love remembering the Muppet Show that was on TV back in the 80's? Ok, showing my age here but the theme song still runs through my head!!!! To show tribute to our love of Jim Henson's Muppets, this hop is dedicated to the Muppets Back Together Again!

Sit back and recall your youth of the 80's and remember your favorite Muppet! And we have retro blog candy

If you just happened upon my blog today, I don't want you to miss any of the show!!! The hop begins with Kari at http://purplefuntastickcreations.blogspot.com/. If you came from her blog than you are going in the right direction. If not, go visit Kari and check out her phenomenal project with the muppets!

NOW, it's on with the show with Scooter and Kermit being the emcee . . . just don't pay attention to the hecklers up there in the private booth - they're just too opinated and OLD!!

I love Animal. I wanted an Animal puppet as a kid as I always wanted to play the drums. I still do and can kill it on Rock Band . So here is my homage to that ultimate party animal:

I took a jpg image and resized it. I added the text in Microsoft Publisher. In 80's style, I added the bling to his glasses.I stamped the sentiment and hand drew in the notes. Thanks for hopping by and your next stop along the vaudville show route is the wonderful Christel.

Hope you enjoyed our tribute to the Muppets and don't forget to let us know your favorite Muppet character!!!! Until next time....

There's Snow Business Like Snow Business Blog Hop

There's Snow Business like Snow Business with all the friendly snowman putting on a show for you today. All I need is a cane and a top hat to start singing now or be Frosty the Snowman and shout "Happy Birthday"!  It may be Frosty and Cold outside, but its warm inside as long as you stay bundled up sledding through our hop!

We have a wonderful line-up for you to either grab your tobagon, sled, sleigh or ski's to check out the craftiness -- grab that hot cocoa and don't forget the marshmallows AND whipped cream, soft blankie, stay warm and snuggly and check out how we build a snowman before he melts!

If you happened upon my blog in error, I do want you to begin at the beginning of building Frosty by stopping by Miss Kari.

We do have some snow candy for you today for stopping by but you need visit all the snow drifts along the way and leaving a warm snuggly comment but just watch out for the yellow snow!

In the meantime, let's get on with the SNOW . . .

It is no secret that I love snowpeople of all shapes and sizes. I found a pack of 12 mini notecards at TJ Maxx that came in a painter's can (which I will repurpose for sure) and new that I would be making something sweet with it. I decided to make this happy little snowmen in a group of three from a stamp I received from my good friend Tina. I colored them with my Stampin' Up markers and the bling is from Want 2 Scrap (whom I would definitely suggest. Great quality and variety). Here are the 3 that I made:
The notecards measure 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" inches. I trimmed white paper to 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" and sponged on  my new Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Inks in Tea Dye and Milled Lavender. Here is a closeup of one of the cards:

I would have loved some Stickles but thought it would have been overkill. I will be mailing these when I figure out the postage .

Thanks so much for stopping by and your next snow drift along the way is my dear friend Lynne. Until next time....a

Guest Designer Day: Kari of Purplefuntastick Creations

Hidey ho my crafty peeps out there! I hope this post finds you all well. I am better than well on one plane... I GOT A JOB!!!!!! After 7 1/2 months of being out of work, I obtained a full time position making the same money with better paid time off policy. I am super excited and cannot wait to start (my first day is the 17th). Today we have a very special friend of mine as Guest Designer, Miss Kari of Purplefuntastick Creations.

So without further delay.... heeeerrrrreeeee's Kari :)

_________________________________________________________________________
Hello Friends and Welcome!

I am Susan's guest designer today at Susana's Corner and her them for the month is winter/just chillin and I knew I had the great idea of what I wanted to do but um...no...I hand up using something much better! yay! don't you love it when things like that happens you get a little frustrated and then voila! an idea comes to you....well I hope you are all having a great start this new year and One of my goals is to be more crafty and just be in JOY!

Here is my project: I decided to make a cute card that I actually planned to give someone who has to remain anonymous since well she peaks at my blog...hehe...

I used my blue card stock that I brought from my local LSS and then made to A2 size card and took some left over paper that was in my stash...love this snowflake print and I wish I had more but they don't have it anymore at Wal-mart but then again I brought this several years ago on clearance...never can pass a clearance...can you? anyways ...hehe...then I used my new stamp I brought a couple of months ago for 25 cents and yep not kidding at Pat Cattan's store...one of my fave places to shop! :) then I use the stamp on white card stock with Shy Blue from SU for this adorable bird and then colored with my water coloring pencils...so much fun! :) then I used my blue Stickles to fluff the hat and boots..and then I stamped "just chillin" off the corner of the white card stock and cut straight off that to keep that corner look...punches some snow flakes and glitz them up with some gems and voila! :) a card is born! :)

Well I hope you enjoy my cute card and have a blessed New Year my friends and New! :) Thanks again for stopping by and I hope you come back to see what is "chillin" :)

In His Love,
Be Inspired,
Kari
