I'm So Excited and I Just Can't Hide It...

Holy mackeral! What a red letter day for me. As many of my followers may know, I have participated in many blog hops and sketch challenges with Jennifer of Craft Card Gallery. She had decided to have her very own design team and I applied with an article I had written and the cards made for it. Well I am happy to say that I have been chosen to be part of her Inaugural Design Team!!! I am honored to be a part of it as Jennifer has inspired and challenged me over the years. She also encouraged me to use the Cameo Silhouette. So in honor of this very talented woman, I made this card:

Sorry for the not so good picture but I was so happy I cut it out right on the first try that I had to take a pic right away! The cut file is from the Silhouette Online Store and I cannot wait to try some other cuts too. Look for more posts using this amazing little machine. Of course I still have my Cricut for some things too. Well, off to la la land. Until next time.....

Facebook Card Swap

Happy Sunday all!

After a good day with the hubs, I just had to share some cards I made for a card swap with my friend Jenn from Craft Card Gallery. I just love how she challenges us creatively and being a part of her monthly group. So when she suggested a card swap I was ALL IN! This month's theme was Halloween. So out came the Gypsy gal and I started creating. Since I have very few Halloween images I had to improvise. I had to make a total of 8 cards and made variations of these few. Here they are:

I just love double sided paper and I am sad I have no more Halloween cards to make . So I challenge you to go grab a piece of double sided paper and some embellishments and see what you come up with.

Spider was cut at 5-inches
Scraps were used for cutting her
Orange bow for her web she is dangling from
Lacy Labels for the sentiment “boo” to be placed
Inked, chalked which I do have the pretty fingers to prove that
Google eyes to google at you while she is a wobbling!!!!!

Creating the Crafty Life Online Craft Fair

Good evening all :)

I am so happy to be participating in my first online craft fair over at Creating the Crafty Life. I was so amazed with the new Creative Memories catalog for Fall/Winter 2012 and the products that I am personally using that I had to share it. You can enter the craft fair HERE.

I would also be remiss if I did not share a cause that is near and dear to my heart. Creative Memories partners with the Make a Wish Foundation and this month is extra special. There are some amazing Make a Wish products  and if you Host a party not only will you get free products, but you’ll also help us support Make-A-Wish® in more ways than ever.

  1. Buy new Dream  products and we’ll make a donation of $1 or $2 for each product purchased.
  2. Purchase Wish Dollars through your Consultant – 100% of your donation will go toward sponsoring a wish for a child like Harper.
  3. When guests book parties of their own, trade in your free-product Host Rewards for a special Make-A-Wish® Booking Bonus Package.
  4. Your party will help us reach our goal of 15,000 parties! Once we reach 15,000 parties booked by September 30, Creative Memories will donate an additional $7,500 to Make-A-Wish to sponsor another wish.
What makes a party? All you need to do is get together with some friends or perhaps some sports parents and show them a catalog? Live in NJ or PA? I can come to you and we can do a 5-10-15 party. So why not help make a child's wish come true? To sweeten this offer I am offering a discount of $5.00 off every $50 order. You can email me your order and pay via check or Paypal.

Thanks all for spending a little time with me and I hope you will consider making a difference in making a child's wish come true. (PS- I can also help you with your Christmas cards this year. See HERE for more information). Until next time.....

Crafty Card Gallery's Sketch Blog Hop

Welcome to the Sketch Blog Hop. Everyone has had so much fun doing these it's turned into a regular event!

The purpose of this hop is to show how all of these talented bloggers can take the same sketch and come up with totally different cards. If you've never used a card sketch before, give it a try! You should have arrived from Shawn's Blog and if you just happened along the hop, you can go back to the start at www.craftycardgallery.blogspot.com
Enjoy the hop!

Here is the original sketch that we were given to use:

And here is what I came up with:

The paper is scraps from my scrap pile and I used some ribbon I had from last year. This is a 100% recyclable card I guess (lol). Even the pumpkin was from a package of embellishments I bought last year and have 2 left over.

Thanks for stopping by and your next stop is Jamie's Blog. Until next time.....

Halloween Spooktacular Blog Hop Day Two

Welcome to the annual Halloween Spooktacular Banner Hop for Special Needs Children! If you came from Tami McD then you are on the right track. If you stopped here first, please make sure you start at the beginning at the FABULOUS HOSTESS, Ellen aka CardMonkey.

I am delighted to join with more than 3 dozen other women who have each made at least one Halloween-themed banner that will be donated to hang in the room of a medically-fragile child at Pediatric Specialty Care in Pennsylvania.
Our Hop Hostess (Ellen CardMonkey Jarvis) works at PSC’s Bucks County site as Admissions Coordinator. The Banner Hop starts there, so please be sure to circle back to the beginning to see all of the terrific banners have been made for these very special children.

Ellen shared this information with us about Pediatric Specialty Care: “PSC is a very special place where children stay either long- or short-term, typically after hospitalization.  Most are dependent on ventilators and other technology to survive. Some have been born too early or with genetic diseases or birth injuries.  Other children suffer injuries later in life that require constant care later, including brain injuries from trauma or loss of oxygen (from choking, suffocation or drowning) and spinal cord injuries.

These children and their families -- and PSC’s staff -- will be thrilled to receive the Halloween banners, to help brighten the season when their friends and siblings will be out trick-or-treating.”

Here is the banner I am sending to a child at PSC:

I just fell in love with the new Halloween paper (Monster Mash) from Imaginisce. I went all the way to VA to get it (ok so I was visiting my parents too ) but it was on the local scrapbook stores website (Beach Scrapbooks in Virginia Beach). It has the most incredible canvas printed stickers to match. I used Maya Road's Pennant Book as my base. I found the yummiest black glitter tulle to string it all together. Here is the end result:

And here is the closeup:

This Hop is two days (Saturday, September 1 and Sunday, September 2), and on each day you will see different banners. Be sure to visit on both days to see the truly inspirational work of these generous bloggers, and leave some love (comments) on as many sites as you can – because if you do, you can up your chances to win some Spooktacular blog candy, including from these sponsors:
