Guest Designer Day - Hurray :)

Good morning all and welcome to Guest Designer Day at Susana's Scrappin' Corner. I am privileged to be able to share two projects in this post by our own Laura of LauraLee's Dream. I am always in awe at the wonderful creations that all my guest designers do. So without any delay, heeeerrrreeee'''''sss Laura :)

 ************************************************************
Today I am guest designing for both of these talented ladies... Susana needed a fill in and I was already working on this layout of my Mom and my youngest daughter so I knew it would fit right in...
Lynne's asked me to work with red, blue, white and pink and a Mother's day theme..or a Memorial Day theme.. but since i live in Canada I thought Mother's Day...
For Lynne, I made 3 little note cards (one more is on the go but I ran out of that pretty blue paper) and a holder which I have decided which one to make as I made the shapes all different.. I thought this would be a great little gift for a Mom or anyone else for that matter....

And for Susana's spot I did a layout of a pic of my Mom and my youngest daughter at her Christening. This was 19 years ago so as you can see I am working doing my layouts all over the place. I found this pic and had just the right paper for it... All elements on this layout are from Tara's May Kit (there are a few left so check them out!!!) Up The Street has the kits and you just have to see how pretty they are.... Tara's kits come in two sides but both sides go together very nicely.

This layout was partially destroyed by my dog but lucky for her (and the cat that knocked it down) she only chewed the bottom right hand corner of the photo and the flowers and brad that were
there. I was very upset and she manages to wreck 4 other layouts.. 3 of which I totally had to redo.
I really love this pic of my Mom and Emily...

 ************************************************************
Thanks to Laura for being my guest designer today and I certainly hope you will hop over and show her some bloggie love at LauraLee's Dream. Until next time....

Guest Designer Day...

and the guest designer is me! I have the most incredible people in my life who challenge me. I received a message from my dear friend who wanted a generic baby card front (4"x6") and since it is a mystery we decided on a question mark. So as I was organizing my craft room, I found some self adhesive vellum in pastel baby colors. I decided on 1" x 1" squares and planned out the pattern. Here is what came of the idea:

I drew in the "quilting" and added some Want 2 Scrap purple self adhesive pearls. The question mark is an image from Bing. I am super excited to send it to her. I hope that you enjoyed your time here and I look forward to bringing you more projects in the near future. Until next time....

Crafty Card Gallery's Quilling Challenge

Happy Saturday all :)

I am super excited to bring you my newest creation. When I saw the call for a Quilling Challenge that Jen of Crafty Card Gallery posted, I just had to agree. I have seen so many beautiful things made (some that I will share here for inspiration) and hope to do even more. The tool provided by our sponsor made it EASY PEASY LEMON SQUEEZY :) Since I love butterflies, I decided to make one with my tool.

For Mother's Day I bought myself a new Sizzix die. It is a long one and makes two different border types. Here is my card:

I also used my Sizzix Scalloped Squares die and the paper I used were all scraps. I used a Stampin's Up stamp set for the sentiment "for you" and the inside says "because nice matters". I love the colors of the card (has two of my favorite colors).

Quilling is just so versatile and creative! I hope that you will stop by Crafty Card Gallery's website for a special offer.

Guest Designer Day - Lori from Scrappin' My Stress Away

Greetings and Salutations my fine crafting friends! Today we have the uber talented Miss Lori from ScrappinMyStressAway. I am so happy to be surrounded by such amazingly creative folks. I am very happy to present you with Lori's project. So without delay, heeeerrreeee's Lori:
***************************************************
Hi!!  Lori here from ScrappinMyStressAway and I am excited to share my Mom Tile this week at Susana's Scrappin' Corner!

I modified a tile project that I made as a Christmas gift last year.  I LOVE being able to save my projects on my Gypsy and  tweak them for a new project!!!

I used Gypsy Wandering, Hannah Montana, Hello Kitty Font, Home Accent, Mother's Day 2010, Nate's ABCs and Quarter Note for the words and placed them Subway Style on my mat and arranged them around the word Mom.
I cut out the vinyl on my E2 using my Vinyl setting.  If you are using a Cricut or Expression, use setting 3-3-3 for a kiss cut.

I use Clear Contact paper as my transfer paper.  The trick is to de-stick the contact paper on your jeans several times.
I put the vinyl on a 12x12 tile that I bought at Lowes.  I love making tiles!!  You can purchase an easel to display the tile.  I made this for my Mother-in-Law for Mother's Day!

Thanks Susan for having me over to play today!!!

This is an old card made last year in May...I used my lavendar cardstock, printed paper from my stash and my white card stock for the stamping and the flower part I used a stamp on  purple felt...all of the flower is from a stamp set of CMTH and the sentiment is HA and the butterfly I can't remember...hehe...but that is it...easy peasy...maybe soon I can load my mom's birthday card and Mother's day card I did.

Till next time be blessed and hugs! :)

Her Craft Kre8tions First Ever Blog Hop!

Welcome to Her Craft Kre8tions first ever Blog Hop which we are calling Thinking Outisde the Yoke. Each Design Team Member was given a paper mache egg and were to transform this into something other than what was given to them originally. Our Design Team is to think outside of the "card" and do something other than cards and layouts. What a challenge .... could you meet this challenge?

Check out our incredible creative Design Team . . . .

Let's start with thinking outside of the yoke of our eggs . . . .

HerCraftKre8tionsDesignTeam ~ http://her-craft-kre8tions.blogspot.com/

We wanted to give you the complete list of the Design Team to check out their creativity. Our hops are going to be once a month which is the 2nd of each month. Please leave comments on each of the hops along the way - there is one great prize to be offered to one lucky winner with commenting on each of the stops along the way!!!

Well, we all started with one paper mache egg. I wanted to make a Faberge Egg but that was not really thinking outside the yolk. I was going to make my very own Chia pet and got to work painting the egg (after cutting the top). When I had it upside down the thought came to me in a song. Who remembers the Beatles song "Octopus' Garden"? The lyrics go like this:

"I'd like to be under the sea
In an octopus' garden in the shade
He'd let us in, knows where we've been
In his octopus' garden in the shade"

And this is how Olivia the Octopus was born :) Here she is:

I sprayed tissue paper to make the tentacles. I blinged her up and drew in her face. She looks great in my bamboo plant. Please hop over to see what my fellow crafters have made. Until next time...
