A very succesful 1st All Day Crop.....

First let me whine minute :D I had a wonderful time at the PS 37 All day crop. It was a school fundraiser that I saw on Facebook. My partner in crime, Erin, and I cropped from 8 AM to 7 PM and it was a very productive day. In between winning little prizes (and breakfast, lunch and dinner) we managed to get a lot done. Here is the 8 page layout and card challenge that were completed. The pictures are not the greatest but they will do for now ....

Here is the title page from our Aquarium trip this summer. The porthole and aquarium die cut are from a company that shall remain nameless. I was very disappointed as the diecut has tears in it. The city name was cut with the Cricut Life's a Beach cartridge. I really like this one and may have to put this one on my have to have list!

Here are the next two 2 page layouts. The paper for the last page is actually Provocraft paper from 1999. Go figure. Here is a closeup. I embellished the paper with fish stickers from Walmart. I called this "in the belly of the whale".

These pics were taken outside of the aquarium. We do not have many pictures of all of us together (hubby is the photographer). For the Title and the arrow I used my Cricut Solutions Stone Script cartridge that I had not opened before. You cannot really tell but the pictures on the bottom of page 2 were two separate shots that I took so they would line up. Who needs a panoramic camera :)

The last but not least layout was made with a Stamping up scrapbook kit called Love Birds Simply Scrapping kit. You get so much in these kits and I always have extra left over. This was a fitting end to these layouts because it is the love of my life who inspires me!

Erin and I worked on cards as well. This week's Scrappy Jak challenge was Black and white. I had to also add a little bit of color to make me happy. This was made using the card feature from Life's a Beach. As I said before, I love this cartridge!

This last one is a card front that I asked Erin to make as a sample for me. She made it in my favorite color of course!

It was a wonderful day but one running on very little sleep. I think that is why I feel so sick today. Duty calls though so I must go to work tomorrow. I hope you all get to experience an all day crop. Next time I plan on being more organized to get more done. Until next time....

Dino-mite

I know, cheesy right? Well, I was preparing some die cut hearts for my Sunday school class tomorrow and decided to play with my Create a Critter Cricut cartridge when I was done. For some reason this dinosaur was calling to me. And I decided to make his buddy too! I have also decided I am in serious need of a paper run! I was also too lazy to go downstairs for the Cuttlebug for the blue dinosaur. I am sure I will be making more of these in the near future. So without further delay...

There were so cute that I just had to share. I have some card challenges I found online today that will be great for these guys. I will be sure to post them when they are done. Until next time.....

Happy pre-TGIF!!!!

Good evening and welcome to all our new followers. I am so glad that you have stopped by. My vision for this blog is for it to grow into a place where we can share our love for all things papercrafting. I was thinking about this on my way to work today. I have a full time job in addition to home and hearth so my crafty times tend to be on the weekends. I was thinking how I see all these beautiful ornate cards and wonder, "How'd they do that?" So I hope to be able to share some videos soon. I am blessed with a great husband who LOVES to do videos. So that may be a possibility in the near future!

I am so excited about our first giveaway on the blog. I am sure that it will not be our last. So, please feel free to share this with all your crafty friends. The more the merrier I always say! And on that note, I will have to say good night. Duty calls in the AM. I hope to hear what wonderful things you will be creating this weekend. So, feel free to comment below. Until next time.....

It's Manic Monday.....

Happy Monday all :) It has been a pretty good day. Got together with my scrappin' buddy, Erin, We had to make a card for her boss who is going to have surgery. I had an epiphany at work and came up with two card sketches. One became the get well soon card and the other a Scrappy Jak challenge card. We also had a time limit so we had to work quickly. Here are the cards that we made.....

Actually looking at it, both of these would qualify for the pink Scrappy Jak challenge. Both the chick and the banana are from the Cricut Create a Critter cartridge.

I wanted to share a project that I worked on with my son for school. He was sure happy to have a scrapbooking Mom with all the colored paper. Here is David's Acrostic Poem....

Well, that is all I had time for tonight but wait until Sept 24th when Erin and I have a sleepover crop! I am sure there will be loads of projects made that night! Until next time....

Are you ready for some football?

I am. I don't really get to watch much and Monday Night football is out of the question but I do track and see how my NY teams do. Being a NY girl at heart, I just can't help it.

Today I made good use of my time. I was pretty much stranded so I decided to put together the cards for the die cut critters I made last weekend. I have so many card sketches I have designed and have to work on more of them. Here is what I came up with:

I decided to make one card of the set of 3 with a sentiment for these sets. I just love this happy little fellow!

Here are the two cards without sentiments. If I were to sell them online I am not sure if I would offer personalization. Any suggestions?

Here is the dragonfly. I would love to see him more sparkly for sure.

Here are the dragonfly twins :)

I think this one is my favorite! He was the first critter card I designed before even owning the cartridge!

I made two of these but they are identical :)

The sentiment in this one is one of many. I need to get a small alphabet stamp set one of these days but I am also a HUGE fan of handwriting on cards. They make them more homey to me.

And here are the owl twins. They are fraternal of course! The Inside has the same paper as the inside sentiment above.

And last but not least, the finished flower card....

I kind of switched gears on this one with the eyelets and the stamped sentiment (I normally wait to stamp until I need the card). The reason I did was this is a sample now. The glue did not dry clear so I was disappointed. C'est la vie as they say.

Well, I hope that you have enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed sharing it with you. All comments are welcome. Until next time....

As promised..... Blog Candy....

Slow and steady wins the race I am telling myself. Today is a day where I can craft to my heart's content and all I want is a nap . So in honor of my lack of creativity today, I thought I would have a give away to inspire others. In today's give away there are two packs of scallop heart cards. Martha Stewart's embellishment pack of hearts, butterflies and flowers stickers, Jolee's Boutique White Blooms dimensional stickers and a Basic Grey Opaline butterfly.

All you need to do is become a follower of my blog and post a comment telling us what your favorite project has been. The winner will be selected on Saturday, September 18th using Random.org. Please post only once as duplicates will not be counted. Come and share your creativity with us. Until next time......

GASP, 2 blogs in one day.......

Errrrr, technically not as it is now 12:04 AM ET! While losing two hours of my life watching "The Fourth Kind", I decided to do a little card. Scrappy Jak on Facebook has been very inspiring to me this week. This card I made for the yellow and buttons challenge is technically not done. Why you ask? Because the glue has not dried, I have not used my Stampin Up stamps to decorate border nor stamped a sentiment. I have also decided to share my Critters that are yet to be relocated to their homes on cards. I was truly impatient tonight . So here they are. Please be kind as they are technically not finished :)

The flowers were cut with the Pazzles, the buttons are from AC moore, the yellow background paper and ribbon are Stampin Up and the strip of pink paper is Cricut paper. I can't wait to finish this one up and make more!!!

Here are my current obsession; the critters. They are cut with my Cricut Create and the Create a Critter cartridge. The papers are a modge podge of scrap paper from AC Moore mostly. Can't you picture the owls on the bottom of a card or scrapbook page?

I have to say that Provocraft got very smart with this cartridge. Some of my previous ones made me crazy with the little pieces. I had a much better time with these and I found there was less paper waste. Or maybe I am getting more experienced? Hmmmmm........

Well, I better finish this up as work beckons in the AM. I am considering a blog giveaway in the near future (possibly as soon as this weekend) so please stay posted. If you are not a follower of my blog, feel free to sign up. Until next time.....

Aaaaarrrghhhh, it is my birthday treasure! Part 1

As I promised yesterday, I wanted to share the pictures of the items that I received for my birthday. I had fun shopping and soon I will be spending my Stampin Up gift certificate. That will be part 2 of this post. Here we go....

This is the scrapbook page that my daughter surprised me with. Isn't she talented? Of course I am partial

Here are the pics of my AC Moore goodies....

And here is the Cricut cartridge that I have been wanting for the longest time. I tried to win it 3 times on Ebay and I was unsuccessful. Thank goodness! :)

I have already cut out the apple, the frog and the dragonfly. I designed some card sketches that I will be adding these to. Those photos are to follow.

Well, that is all folks for now. I am off to make a card for a yellow and buttons challenge :)

A photoless post....

It was a loooooooooooooonnnnnnnngggggggggggg back to work after a 10 day vacation. I had a PHENOMENAL vacation and birthday festivities. I was so fortunate to have my scrapping girls and their families come for a bbq on the official day. I was happy for their company and that would have been enough but I also got presents. I received the Cricut Create a Critter card, an AC moore gift card and a gift certificate from my favorite Stampin Up Demonstrator (and dear friend). I will have to take a pic of what I have made with the cartridge, the items I bought with my gift card and will be sure to post what I get from Stampin up. I have my eye on some new paper at the moment. . I even got handmade cards. I have such talented friends!!!

My daughter surprised me with a beautiful scrapbook page for my birthday. I can't wait to share it with you as well. Pics will have to follow after my work week is done. I hope that this post finds you all well and hope that you have a wonderful week! Until next time....

Owls, Owls and more owls :)

I had a surprise visit from my daughter down in my craft room. She decided to join me for an afternoon of cardmaking. Scrappy Jak spoke about Orange and Owls. I took up the challenge but did not want an orange owl. We decided to take scraps and run with it. We even took out the Cuttlebug to make one of the owls. Here are the cards we came up with....

Here are all 4 together :)

This is Melissa's owl. She really like the pink polka dot paper and decided that the owl should be holding a heart.

These were the 3 cards that I made. The 3rd one was a collaborative effort :)

I have to admit this was lots of fun. We will be working on the other 3 cards another day. Not tomorrow as we will be having a BBQ with friends. Have a great night!

Happy Birthday to Me

Good afternoon all! I trust this blog post finds you very well on this extended holiday weekend. This past week I was on vacation and I do not go back to work until Tuesday. It was a very special week as I got to spend it with my parents in Virginia Beach. We had my birthday bbq (or cookout as it is known down South) with all my cousins and my Aunt Lori. It was a wonderful time and my cousin Tabby's homemade cake was delicious (I keep saying she needs to start a business!). My birthday is not officially until tomorrow but I thought I would share what I was given and what the cash gifts I received that was invested in future creativity. The best is that I have some b-day cash left and a Target gift card as well (thanks to Wendi, Jason and Quinn). Target usually has some scrapbooking items so I plan on checking it out! Now drum roll please :D

This is a picture of the paper, stickers and magazines that I bought from AC Moore. There was a great paper sale and I used the coupon to buy the 3 lb paper pack for 40% off. My wonderful son went with me and used his coupon to buy me the magazine from England.

These are the pics of everything close up! Thanks to Mom, Dad, Aunt Lori, Monica, JD and Austin for the funds to have fun!

Here are the gifts I received from my cousins Christine, Billy and Carter. You can never have enough albums or paper. I love bling and butterflies too!

Last but not least I got the cutest note pad from Sabrina, Chris, Avery, Ryan and Layna that will get a lot of use at home and at work. I need humor frequently throughout the day

I am downstairs in my craft area getting ready to use my Pazzles die cut machine. I have some ideas that I want to play with so I will need to get busy. I will be sure to share these later. Until then....
