Spring Forward Blog Hop Day 1

Welcome to the Spring Forward Blog Hop, jointly hosted by Celeste at Touched by a Butterfly and Lora at Notes from the Scrapbooklady - Thanks for stopping in to see the great spring themed projects designed by all the talented participants.

This blog hop will offer one lucky blog hopper a TWO PART blog candy.  Celeste and Lora have both put together prize packages and will each mail their prize package to the ONE LUCKY WINNER!  The rules are pretty simple - visit each participating blog and leave a comment - a winner will be chosen from among all posts left at Notes from the Scrapbooklady blog and then we will verify that the winner has visited and commented on each blog.  The winner will be posted at both Notes from the Scrapbooklady and Touched by a Butterfly and will have one week to contact Lora or Celeste with a mailing address for their prize packages.

Some of the participants may also be offering their own individual blog candy  - please note their terms and conditions.

For my first day I decided to share a very simple idea with you all. A friend from work is having her daughter's First Birthday/Christening Party and she asked for my help with some of the items. You may recall the invitation that I designed on the Gypsy. If not here it is again:

We had  such fun making these! Well a few weeks later we were talking about table markers. Since she was so wonderful and left me all her leftover paper, I decided to design the table markers as well. I did design it on the Gypsy but is is easy enough to do without it. I started out with a flower from Doodlecharms. For a decent size you can cut this at 7.41" w x 6" h. The circle came from George and Basic Shapes was cut at 3.34"w x 3.12" h. The number came from Cricut classic font. These I resized according to how visually pleasing it was. There were 9 in total but here is the first one:

And now what you have been waiting for... BLOG CANDY! There will be blog candy for each day of the hop. Tonight's blog candy is in honor of Olivia's first birthday. The winner will be picked by my friend Randy; Random.org that is. There are two criteria to win this blog candy:

1. Be a follower of this blog
2. Leave a comment under this post telling of your favorite birthday memory

The blog candy will be 3 handcrafted birthday cards.

How much easier can it be? Winners of all the blog candy will be picked the evening of Monday, April 14th. Now onto your next stop... Tina at Scrapping with Tina. Should you get lost along the way, here is the list of all stops:

Enjoy the hop! Until tomorrow.....

Sue

  1. AWWWW!!! You did such a great job Sue!!! I absolutely love them!!! :) To be honest - I don't have a favorite Birthday memory. My Birthday is near Independence day so I always had water parties of some sort. Even now, my hubby spoils me; so I don't know that I have a favorite. :) It's such a pleasure to be in the hop with you!!!! You really did a great job, TFS! :)

  9. My family always makes my birthday special. One of my favorites was when my husband was in Iraq. My daughters (ages 9, 6 and 4 at the time) got together with their adopted grandpa and threw a surprise party. The theme was green (my favorite color). Thanks for sharing!

  15. My favorite birthday memory is how much care my Mom put into our birthday cakes when we were young. One year, she made me a pink cake, and then she handmade marshmallow elephants for on top! This is a trick I can't wait to use with my own kids (the ones I haven't had yet LOL!)

  29. oh wow how super cute and fun are these. I love the ladybug invites adorable!!!! Wish my kids were smaller.

My favorite birthday memory was way back in the 80's when the cabbage patch kids came out and I got mine for my birthday her name was Gloria and she had blonde hair. I have kept her my whole life. Since then she's been passed on to my own daughter who now is a teenager and she's not into her anymore.

  31. Both of these turned out super cute! TFS!

My favorite birthday memory was when I was a mere 31. I had my second daughter on the 20th and my birthday was on the 26th. She was a whole month early because I had so many problems during the pregnancy. She came out so beautiful and so healthy. That beats any toy or the like from my childhood years.

  37. Very sweet projects! My favorite b'day memory always involves sharing my day with my baby brother. He's 3 years and 4 days younger than I am ... so because there are just 4 days between his day and mine, Mom threw our parties together. One year, he got the coolest present -- a PILE OF DIRT in the backyard. I mean, it was a MOUNTAIN. He got a bunch of Tonka trucks to play in it ... and I went inside to get something to dig with. Turned out it was Mom's sterling silver spoons!! Well, they were missing for a long time, I mean YEARS. Finally, about 16 years later, Ed and I chipped in together to celebrate Mom & Dad's Silver Wedding anniversary and bought replacement spoons -- that we delivered in one of Ed's Tonka Trucks.

    TYFS!!

It's so hard to pick a favorite Birthday memory, as I have been so blessed in so many ways. I guess though maybe it was last years...we went on combined Mom's b-day and Mother's day trip fr the week to Disney World. It was perfect weather, and a really great week connecting with the hubs and kids.

  41. Both projects are great. I am a follower. The only birthday party I can remember, as a child, is when I got a Barbie birthday cake, you know the one with the cake as the dress and a Barbie torso on top. I just loved it and maybe that is why I remember it so fondly.

  42. Teehee, I am leaving a comment on my own blog. I won't win my own blog candy tho . I wanted to share my favorite birthday memory with you all. It was my 6th birthday and we were moving into a new house. Growing up in the city we had block parties where you got a permit from the city to block off the street for a few hours and have food, music, rides, etc. It is like a mini city fair I guess. Well, this happened on the day I moved in and I thought my parents made that for my birthday party :) Hey I got cotton candy! So that's my story.

Thank you all for your wonderful comments and for sharing your memories. Good luck!

    Happy Scrappin'

  44. Very cute project! My favorite b-day memory was my 14th b-day party. It was the biggest party I had and we all went bowling, to pizza hut, had a slumber party and opened presents (I got a ton) and then I got to pick up an aquarium and all the fish I wanted to go in it. My friends and I went back to my house to set it all up. It was great! So much fun!

  48. Darling projects. Love the ladybug. My favorite birthday was a surprise 60th given by my daughter. It was Derby Day, May 2nd, and my daughter printed 60 dollar bills with my picture in the middle called Babe Bucks. Friends could bet on a horse or on various items up for auction. Best birthday of my life, so far!! People are still talking about it, years later.
