Scrappy Jak January Card Challenge

Oh what a fun one this challenge was. It was a day of firsts. It was the first time that I used my Paper Dolls and Mini Monsters Cricut cartridges. It was also the first time I designed mu challenge cards on the Gypsy. But the HUGE first was that I used my new Peachy Keen Face stamps. They were a Christmas present from my dear friend Erin. I had a wonderful time with them and I can see that there will be more in my future :)

Now onto my cards...

This sweetheart was made with love. It kind of looks like me but I don't wear stripes I am blessed with a great husband and fantastic kids. I wanted to reflect how special and supportive my husband is.

This cranky snowmonster reflects my feelings about the snow. It seems that we are shoveling every week. Bring on Spring!

And speaking of Spring, I wanted to share that I will be participating in my first blog hop.

I hope you all will come and have fun with us. Well, it is very late here and snow is falling again. Time for me to get some rest so I can face a new day tomorrow. Until next time......

Don't I wish I could share what I did today....

Yesterday was a non crafty day. My friend Erin and I, both had terrible headaches. Today after Church, my daughter asked to make a Nemo and Dory from the newer Best of Pixar Cricut cartridge. I have definitely not gotten the hang of that cartridge yet! In my defense it is the first time I used it.

While watching the Jets get thrashed lose to the Steelers (insert sad face), I made my two cards for the Scrappy Jak cards of the month. I cannot post them until the 26th. If you are on Facebook, please join the group.

I had fun working with my Cricut Gypsy today. I designed both cards on it. I will be sure to post them in 3 days. Until then.....

It was a challenge day!

Today was a wonderful day off. Last year we had a scrapping get together and ate beforehand. Today we added one more friend to the bunch! Nicole, Julie, Erin and I had a wonderful afternoon. I decided to make cards for some online challenges instead of scrapbooking today (we will be at an all day crop later in the month). I wanted to share them with you.

And last (but defintely not least), here is my challenge card for Fantabulous Cricut Challenge (http://fantabulouscricut.blogspot.com/)

I had a great 4 day weekend. Have to go back to work tomorrow. Not sure how much crafting will get done. This Saturday will be a 10 hour fiesta! Until next time :)

My Pink Stamper First Blog Hop Challenge...

While watching a DVD with my hubby and son, I made this card for the My Pink Stamper Challenge. I had so much fun on this blog hop that I wanted to participate. Thanks to my friend Nicole for letting me borrow the Robotz cartridge! So here is it :)

And now we would like to present.....

the first episode of Susana's Scrappin' Corner. Here is the video that I wrote about in my last post. My wonderful hubby filmed and edited this for me (not one of my talents). I hope you enjoy it.

Until next time....

I made a video!

Go figure :D I was so proud of my first Gypsy made card that I decided to make a video. My hubby (our resident photographer and videographer) was kind enough to film it. He will be editing it (as only he knows how) and it should be posted by Sunday.

A very dear friend of mine is having a birthday and this card was inspired by her. We used to sit and color in our Winnie the Pooh coloring books. I am proud to call her my friend even though we are now old . Well, I am off to Blog Hop with The Pink Stamper (http://www.mypinkstamper.com/). Until next time....

It takes my son to figure out the Gypsy...

I thought since I was iced in this morning, that it would be a creative day. WRONG! I have had very little sleep and my technologically advanced son decided to play with the Gypsy. He wanted a chatcka box to hold things. Most were feminine so he bought two plain ones. Today he christened the Cricut Pagoda cartridge and the Gypsy to decorate one box. I was quite impressed. Here are some pics:

There are two dragons on two sides of the box

This is the top

And here are the bridges on the other two sides.

It definitely nice to cut out 12 x 12 pages of images that you need for the layout. I was going to try to design a birthday card for a dear friend but the Gypsy died! I did make a card for a Bat Mitzvah and then decided to make some beaded charm holders for my husband's DSi XL and my Gypsy!!! I needed an easier way to pull the stylus out and figured I could make my life easier. Voila!

I am actually considering making these for sale. I think it would make many people happy.

Here is the bat mitzvah card I made for my son's friend:

Simple but still pretty.

Well, it is now time for bed. May tomorrow bring you loads of creativity. Until next time...

A Stampin' Up Morning.....

ok, Mother has a sense of humor. We have had more snow. Not a lot but it is now so icy. Luckily before the storm picked up, we had our monthly Stampin Up get together. This month's technique was Faux Silk. I had a wonderful time and came up with these 3 cards:

This is a photo of all 3:

Here's the recipe:

Stampin Up cardstock, punches, inks and stamps
Tissue Paper
Bone Folder and scissors

You can either stamp on white or light cardstock or directly on the tissue paper. Scrunch the tissue paper and slightly flatten it. Use glue stick when the image dries and lay the tissue paper on the light cardstock. Use your bone folder to slightly flatten it out and trim excess around the edges. I then mounted it on a card and used border punches.

I really think I may need to do a video of this. It would be easier to show you :)

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and I hope to have a video for you soon. Until next time....

A Scrappy Jak December

I have been having so much fun with my friend Scrappy Jak from Facebook. She has been so wonderful in making kits of the month. This month there was two cards and a mini chipboard album. All she asked is that we post our pictures of what we made. Here is what I came up with:

This is the mini chipboard album. I am so amazed that I want to make more!

Here are the two cards I made with the card kits. The tree card was made with a Cricut die cut and the other was Cricutless :)

For the card above, I used Stickles for the antennae and some glaze adhesive (the name escapes me at the moment). She is just too cute.

I really cannot wait to have more time to be creative. Until next time.....
