Kathy Davis Design Studio Day ~ August 17th

Good day all!

As some of my Facebook friends know, I was blessed to spend the day at Kathy Davis Studios in Horsham, PA with the fabulous Cardmonkey and Friends. Ellen organized a crop at the studio and we received a tour of the inner sanctum where fabulousness is made. I was in awe of the whole tour and Kathy's inspiring story of how it all got started. Well, it gave me a renewed sense of creativity and hope. I purchased some items and set to work. 

Here is some of the pics I took yesterday. I walked up the sidewalk and was not sure what to expect. I new it was going to be great but it was beyond my imagination.

Here is just a small portion of the gallery. The sign on the right says, "Create a Life you Love" and the room with the open door would be my IDEAL work space to creative. The gallery had everything from beautiful dinnerware and tea items to fabric and framed art (canvas too).

Here was the welcome sign to where we were housed for the day.

 Here is the FABULOUS Cardmonkey sharing her time and talents with us for the day. She teaches classes at Kathy Davis Studio and Joann's in PA.

This lovely arrangement kept me company as I got busy with Kathy's papers and embellishments.

And here are the DELICIOUS cupcakes that Star made in honor of Ellen's birthday. I got to bring home cupcakes for the hubby and son. 

I made a card that will be shared tomorrow but wanted to share with you the other two I made as well. Here is the first one:

The card base was made with Close to My Heart's cartridge. The front sentiment is from Kathy Davis Happiness Rub-ons (#1875).The pattern paper is Kathy Davis' Scatter Joy Butterfly's Promise. The brads are from the Kathy Davis Scatter Joy brad set.The stamp is from Get Inky! Stamps (Love Bugs 4x6).

I was so inspired by Kathy Davis canvas and framed prints that I decided to take the Close to My Heart's White Daisy Circle Spin Card and use Kathy Davis Happiness Rub-ons (#1879) to create my own take. The flowers in the center are from Studio 112 and the Layered Sticker is from Creative Imaginations. Here it is:

Greetings all from VA Beach!

I am so blessed to be Guest designer this week for Crafty Card Gallery.This design team truly is my creative outlet and I am so grateful to be a part of it. I will be bringing you various projects featuring my Cameo Silhouette. My first project I want to share is a card I made for my Dad. Many of you know that he is facing extremely serious surgery today as his lung cancer has returned with a vengeance. I wanted to let him know how much I love him II am a Daddy's girl) and how I need him to fight this. So here is a card that I made with my Cameo and some star embellishments:

I found this cut file over at the Silhouette Store. I added some gold star brads I bought for Christmas cards. I gave this to my Dad on the Saturday as we were celebrating his birthday. I am looking forward to bringing you more cards this week. Until next time...

For the hop today, I have created a Folded Gift Card Envelope. I think I definitely need to make a video on this as they are super easy and fun to do. The best part is that you only need one 12" x 12" double sided paper and a 3" x 12" piece of coordinating paper and some embellishments. Here are my pics:

The first section or last section can hold the gift card and the 2nd section folds down so you can write in it. You could also put tags with special messages.


I am so close to 400 followers that I hope to give away a gift card when that happens. SO, if you are not a follower, you may want to become one to help me reach the goal.

JDS New Release Monday: Polka Dots Christmas Characters

Welcome to another New Release Monday at Jen's Digi Stamps. In my quest to learn to make new cards, I decided to learn how to make an easel card. The theme of Polka Dots made me see lots of dots! The Bazzill Swiss Dots paper that is. I love this paper pack and use it whenever possible. I love snowpeople and have been making Christmas cards that are non-Christmas colors. This blue always reminds me of winter and snow. Here  is my card:

I added these button brads as polka dot button brads for the snowman's belly, a drew in the dark with my Marvy pen marker and added the brad buttons on the outside. PaperPlay Challenge/Cute Card Thursday Submission

I missed out on another challenge but I am so proud of this one. The challenge was monochromatic. I just love this baby card!

Mojo Monday 167/DP2 Challenge

In my last post I said that I planned on entering more online challenges. I had and EXTREMELY productive day and here is one of the projects that I got done today. This one is for the Mojo Monday challenge and the DP2 Challenge.I missed the cutoff for Mojo Monday but made it for DP2. I did learn I need a better way to cut circles though. Anyone have any suggestions? :) Here is a pic:

I love bling so was glad to use these Stampin Up gems and brads. I embossed the snowflakes and the patterned paper is Stampin Up too. Please stand by for the next challenge card :)

One lonely little page....

When I went to put the 4 page layout in my album (see previous post), I realized that I had a blank page. I conveniently had a single picture to use (which I rarely do). This picture was from a long time ago. My daughter will be 16 on Friday so this takes me back :)

It is amazing how time flies! I cannot believe it. I hope you enjoy this layout. I had a blast putting the paper flowers together with Stampin Up Brads. Until next time......

Two for two....

Howdy all!

I decided to post part 2 of the wonderful creations that have been made with some creativity, inspiration and a great teacher (yes that is you Julie ). These are using the same techniques I had posted prior but they were made by my counterpart, Erin. I have to give credit where credit is due. I am fortunate to have another friend with such wonderful vision. I hope that you enjoy her cards as much as I did....

Can I Get a Witness

Good evening all!

The witness is to see if I am certifiable. According to my dear friends they need to have an intervention as they have created a monster. I was very happy to have played with my new Copic markers with my friend, Erin last night and a new stamp I purchased at Paper Wings in Tuckerton, NJ. We also embossed, used ribbon and brads and stamped the night away! We looked at the clock and it was almost midnight! Thank goodness all the men were busy .

This morning I woke up really early (after getting to sleep around 12:30 AM) to having dreamt of two card layouts. Well, I drew them out and tried to go back to sleep. It didn't work and I got up and started the cards. All were finished by this evening (after teaching Sunday school, helping parents pack, spending time with family and doing some things here at home). It was a good weekend. Here are the fruits of my labor.... you be the judge if I need an intervention ....

This is a trio of cards that I completed. This is a new stamp I purchased. I colored them with Copic markers, Zig Zag markers and/or colored pencils. I used Stampin Up cardstock and some of the Michael's Card packages. Here are the close-ups....

This is my boricua faerie as I call her. The cupcakes and the saying are all Stampin up products. Embossing is becoming one of my favorite techniques.

Here is my pink and purple faerie. She represents my favorite colors. She is colored strictly with Copic markers. I embossed the card with the Quickutz A2 polka dots folder, the "Love" strip is from a scrapbook page kit from Stampin Up and the brads are theirs as well. This was one of the layouts I dreamt of and had to sketch out.

Here is my Spring faerie. The background is embossed with silver and white images. The faerie was colored with colored pencils. The card is Stampin Up cardstock as is the stamped saying and hearts. The patterned paper is from a paper pack from Michaels or AC Moore. I just cut out the part I liked from the 4x6 piece.

Of all the cards, this is my least favorite, this is a new Sizzlits die. I will have to play with it a bit more. The setup is the same as pink and purple faerie card but I wanted to try this. I was going to emboss but decided not too. Might have to try it.

This was the other layout that I dreamt about. I have to say I like it very much.I cannot find my 1 1/2" circle punch so I used the 1 3/8" Cuttlebug heart die cut. It was surprisingly easy. The stamp is the Stampin Up Ronald McDonald set. The brads in the corner are Stampin Up too.

I'm a scrappin' fool......

I had a very productive weekend that followed through to today. It took a lot of blood, sweat and tears- a new printer and a kit from the local scrapbook store. I am blessed with some wonderful scrapbook friends that are such an inspiration. Here are the fruits of my labor. Enjoy!

This kit came from my local Scrapbook Store, Scrappers Cove. I was unable to go to the class so I ordered the kit. It was so easy to put together and it was purchased in mind for our adorable grandson, Elijah!

These were made on Friday night with my scrapping friends. My friend Nicole is so creative with her pages she has been rubbing off on me. I included the close ups to show the little touches I added :)

This was my first venture with precut papers from the clearance bins at Michaels. I am not crazily impressed to be honest so added a little something. The paper flowers were from the scrapbook store, the brads are Stampin Up and the felt flowers are stickers from Michael's. The scalloped border was also purchased at the scrapbooking store. If you would like the names for any of these supplies, feel free to leave me a comment.

Up next.... a Disney train kit, card making on Friday and ordering more picture prints as I have almost scrapped all the ones I printed before :) Have a wonderful week!

I have officially decided to enter a contest at my local scrapbook store. For $5 you get a kit and you need to come up with your own layouts. My layouts were inspired by two things: punches and corkboards. Can you guess which is which ? I hope to drop them off tomorrow. Here you go.....

As you can see, you get quite a bit of materials for $5 and I still have some extra paper scraps left over. I will probably use it to make a card or two. Until next time...
