Up Close and Personal for St. Jude's
It is really late and I am kind of yucky. I wanted to share the pics hubby took of the cards I featured in my last post. I am so happy that the deadline has been extended because I want to make some more with my new Elegant Edges and my not so new Best of Pixar carts :) Until next time, enjoy....

Happy Father's Day/St. Jude's Card drive
Hi all! I wanted to share this yesterday but the rendering finished late and I was beat. I went on a card making frenzy for a card drive for St. Jude's Hospital sponsored by Erica of My Cricut Craft Room (read more here). Here is a special video that we filmed for both occasions. My cards were mailed out today and I look forward to making even more.
Wishing all the Dad's and Mom's who fill both roles a Happy (belated) Father's Day. Until next time.....

Heat Embossing and You :)

Thanks to a great fellow blogger, Kassidy of Inking It Up Crazy, we are celebrating her birthday all month long. Today I am the guest designer and I wanted to share a faux metal technique using heat embossing. It is so easy that you are not going to believe it. Before we get to that, let's all say "Happy Birthday Kassidy"
Here is the finished product....
How did I do this? Well let me explain. Here is a picture of all the supplies I used:
We have my Stampin' Up Versamark, silver embossing powder and embossing buddy, my Inkadinkadoo clear embossing powder, and my heating tool from a major chain store. Not pictured is my Sizzix Big Shot, Stampin' Up Heart punch and Cuttlebug D'vine Swirls embossing folder. The first step was to take me yellow paper and emboss it with the Cuttlebug folder. I then took a purple marker and went over the dry embossed areas. I took the Versamark and patted it on the entire card front. Take the clear embossing powder and cover the card front generously. I usually pat the embossing powder to ensure that it covers the area. Tap off the excess and use your heat tool to "melt" the powder. You have to make sure that you move the heat tool around so you do not burn the paper. Here is what I ended up with:
I love inking and was happy with the muted look. To get the faux metal technique I took a piece of white cardstock and punched out my heart shape with my Stampin' Up punch.
I covered the heart front with Versamark and dipped it into the silver embossing powder; again, patting it for full coverage and then tapping off the excess. You have to using the heating tool to melt the powder. While it is still hot, dip it into the embossing powder and heat again. You will repeat this step one more time (or until you are happy with the look). While it is still warm, you can take a stamp and make an impression into the "metal". Here is the results:
I added a Stampin' Up rhinestone embellishment to the center for some bling. Putting the rest together was easy peasy. Here is the end result:
The ribbon is from a Stampin' Up ribbon swap I participated in. As you can see I trimmed the yellow down so the purple A2 card base would show.
I hope that you enjoyed this little tutorial and I wish you success in trying this. Should you have any questions, please leave a comment below. Hop on over to Inking It Up Crazy with Kassidy for the contest going on. I currently have a video rendering that we recorded for another worthwhile cause I participated in. I hope to post it a little bit later. Until then....
P.S. This will be posted for Made It Myself Mondays too :)

Royal Purple Freedom Blog Hop Winner!!!
Good afternoon all. I promised to pick a winner from our hop. Remember that the only criteria was to be a follower and leave a comment. It was not too difficult right? Since this was such an IMPORTANT hop for many of us, I have decided to do something extra. I was giving away a $10 gift card to Michael's, AC Moore or Joanne's Fabrics and Crafts. Well, guess what? I decided to give away 2 instead. May not seem like a big deal but since I am currently "in transition" (I know the perfect job is out there for me) I am wanting to share some joy. May I have a drum roll please? So the WINNERS (picked by my friend Randy of random.org) are:

Ooops, I did it again ...
My oh my, am I forgetful these days. Not going to work each and everyday is making me lose track of time. Shhhh, don't tell anyone but I have had more time in my Craft Cave Since mid-May than I have all year! This is a good thing as I have been trying to be more creative and use the time well. Enough of that though.
I promise to pick a winner tomorrow from the Royal Purple Freedom blog hop this past weekend. This was such an AMAZING experience that I would love to participate in more causes like this. I am currently making some cards for St. Jude's Children's Hospital that my Facebook friend Cricut Craft Room is working on. I ran out of time to put them together as I am expecting a visit from Erin of Comfy on My Cloud. So tomorrow afternoon will have to come quickly.
For now, I wanted to share the two cards that I made recently. One is the card from the video I posted. The second is similar but used microbeads. I have to say that I like using the microbeads better. What do you think? Inquiring minds want to know :) Until next time....
I am submitting this for Made It Myself Monday :)

It's Glitterific
Good evening all. After a little bout of insomnia last night, I had 4 hours of disrupted sleep. I have to say being awoken my a screaming teenager is like being awoken when they are infants. I ended up having to take a nap this afternoon. Thankfully, hubby held down the fort and I felt better afterwards. I wanted to share with you the video that I wrote about yesterday. I will also be linking this to You Had Me @ Craft's Made It Myself Monday's.

Thanks for spending this time with me and I look forward to some more crafting time with you. Until next time....

So with no further adieu, here we go....

The Celebration of Dad's....
Note: I entered this card in the Crazy About Cricut and My Craft Spot challenges this week too :)
Today I came across a new challenge on the Stampin' Sisters in Christ. Since I am blessed to have my Dad still with me (after a bout with lung cancer, chemo and radiation), I chose to showcase his Father's Day card.Dad will be 70 on his next birthday and I am so grateful to have both my parents. This is the first year I have made my parents their cards for Mother's and Father's Day.
I went Cricut crazy with the Cricut decals cartridge. Since my Dad spent so many years as a suit and tie guy, I thought this was perfect.
Here is the inside of the card. I used a Jolee's sticker I found and "engraved" it. I can't wait for my Dad to get it!
I also managed to film a video with hubby today. I am so excited about it. It will be rendering most of the night but will be ready to show tomorrow in time for You Had Me @ Craft Made It Myself Mondays .
Until tomorrow...
