JME Creations Design Team Project

Hi all.... this is a brief post as I have to get to work. I had so much fun with this butterfly challenge. I got to use my new Stampin' Up candy poly bags and a cartridge I have not used before; Indie Art. My sons loved the extra Nerds as I bought too many boxes (Better to be safe than sorry I always say). Here is the final result:
I hope you will hop over to JME Creations and see what the other team members have made. Have a great day all :) Until next time....
Greetings all and thank you for stopping by. This week I get to be guest designer for Crafty Card Gallery. I met Jenn on Facebook and am in love with her Ipod touch app. If you have not seen it yet, please check it out. I decided to branch out for this design team assignment.
I so wish I had a cartridge that had an elegant black cat but necessity is the mother of invention. I took the cat from Mini Monsters cartridge and hid it's features with my Gypsy. Once I cut it I decided that she needed bling and some googly eyes. I am in St. Patrick's Day Mode so I decided she wanted an Irish derby hat. She is sitting in some grass waiting for her dinner. I know I am so looking forward to my corned beef and cabbage. I think I am going to make Irish soda bread this year as well. I hope that you will stop by during the week and see what else I will have to share. Until next time...

Hoppy Monday Y'all!

Hi all... I have multiple posts today so want to make things easier. It has been a long day but a good one with some crafting time to come. Here we go:

Love to Create Design Team Post: Robyn's Fetish

Purplies Design Team: Altered Journal

Come back tomorrow for more fun :) Until next time...

Love to Create Design Team Post 4

Howdy all and welcome to my design team project for the Love to Create Design Team. The AMAZING Sponsor this week is http://robynsfetish.com/shop/

The theme of the challenge was Stitching: Faux or Real. Well I decided to do both (and poked myself with the needle). Here is my card:
I used my Creative Memories Flowers & Swirls doodling template to do the swirls with my gold metallic pen. I used the same pen to color the gold and this lucky little fellow's clothes. I colored this digi stamp with my Stampin' Up markers. The doily was something I received in a swap. I had so much fun with this card. I hope you like it too!

Well, I hope that you will stop by the Love to Create Challenge Blog to see what my fellow design team members have made. Why not enter yourself?

Until next time...

Purplies Design Team: Altered Jornal

'Ello all :)

Today is another Purplies DT day for Purplefuntastick Creations. Do you remember the flower we made for the last posting (see here). Well, we were given the challenge to take the flower and use it on an altered notebook. I stressed over this as I am not good at making altered notebooks. I looked at the notebook quite awhile before I decided what to do. I took my DCWV Garden Party stack that I received for my birthday. I love the brown and pink color combination and the paper borders that come in the pack are awesome. The sentiment is a sticker from the same pack. I used my Sticky Tape to piece it all together. Here is my journal:
I have to admit that it came out better than I expected. I hope that you will stop by Purplefuntastick Creations to see the other amazing journals. Until next time.....

Guest Designer: Craft and Green

Today I have the honor of being guest designer for my friend Tina aka Crafty and Green. Today I decided to try a different type of project using this sketch:

I decided to make a Creative Memories Photo Panel with my Storybook Creator Software. Photo Panels also make wonderful gifts for any special occasion. You can easily choose from either of our two beautiful alternatives, a Photo Panel or a Metal Photo Panel. After you’ve created your Photo Panel and are ready to check out, it’s as simple as clicking a button and choosing which type of photo panel you want it printed on. (Note: with the Metal Photo Panels, any white color in your design will appear metallic.)

Use your favorite photos, drag and drop templates or Page Prints as an easy way to dress up any room in your home! Let your photo panel speak for itself year-round by creating it online here in our Digital Center, or customizing it when you use our StoryBook Creator Plus Software.

Need help, watch this step by step video.

So here is what I made and will have made into a photo panel as a gift:
I am so happy to be able to share this with you all. Should you have any questions, please contact me directly.

Guest Designer Day: Sweet Sasha (aka Lynne's granddaughter)

Greetings and Salutations!

Today we have a very special guest designer. Miss Lynne has been under the weather and her granddaughter, Sasha, stepped in to share her talent with us. She is one very talented young lady and I hope to craft via FB video chat with her and Grammy Lynne one of these days. Without further adieu, heeeeeerrreeeeee'ssssss Sasha
***********************************************************************
Today, Grammy Lynne is Guest Designer for her dear friend Susan Bermudez but she is kinda busy and she overdid it today with shopping and laundry – geesh, you would think she would learn!!!

When Grammie and Paps pick me up after school, Grammie gets a snack for Paps and me and then we CRAFT!!!!! I’m very good at using the Cricut and love to make cards!!!

This is a Hello Kitty card we made for my Aunt Jean. This is from Grammy’s Hello Kitty Greetings Cricut cartridge. Grammy says we use scraps first for the little pieces but we used Recollections Black for the card. I like glitter and gems and we put a gemstone in the center of the flower. I still have to decorate my card and write “I love you Aunt Jean” but we will do that later!!! Grammy says there are several rules we need to obey when using her Cricut:
1. We don’t eat using the Cricut
2. We don’t touch the Cricut when it is cutting
3. And most important – the Cricut is not a toy!!!

The other project we did was using ek tools that makes dimensional flowers. Mommy bought this for Grammy and I to make pretty flowers. We had a lot of fun with this but you have to be very careful and it is hard to get it to cut – but look how pretty the flowers are. I got to ink them as that is my favorite job but Grammy keeps the hand sanitizer handy cause I get as much ink on me as I do on the paper……

Hope you enjoyed our projects and thank you Miss Susan for letting me take Grammy’s place….

Hugs and Love
Sasha
***********************************************************************
Thank you Miss Lynne for allowing Miss Sasha to come and spend sometime with us. I hope we craft together soon. Until next time...

It's Mardi Gras Blog Hop

Welcome to our Mardi Gras parade. I must warn you though while you may enjoy jumping up to catch beads, doubloons, cups, stuffed animals--whatever! Please yell at the float riders "Throw me something, Mister!" Bring a large, sturdy plastic or cloth bag to hold all the treasure you'll be catching - if you try to put all of your beads around your neck, you'll have a hard time standing up straight! Be prepared: some people get so overcome with excitement they will occasionally jump in front of you to grab what a rider has thrown to you. Don't get into a tug-o-war....there are many more floats on the way! If you're from far away, some visitors hold up a sign saying where they are from.. our local riders love to see people from far away have a good time and will throw to them to make sure they do!

The colors of Mardi Gras are: Purple which reprsents justice; Green which represents faith; and Gold which represents power. Mardi Gras is always held the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday. Mardi Gras is music, parades, picnics, floats, excitement ... and one big holiday in New Orleans! Everyone is wearing purple, green, and gold; and adorned with long beads caught from the beautiful floats. They sit on the ground throwing balls, playing music, having a picnic, and watching the crowds walk by between parades.

Instead of beads, coconuts (which apparently is the most prized throw from floats) and other baubles, we have a great sponsor:

$15 Gift Card for Treasure Box Designs (http://www.treasureboxdesigns.com/). They are asking you to stop by their blog and checking out their Guest Designer projects and leaving a comment at http://treasureboxdesigns.blogspot.com/. They are a part of the parade route!

$50 Gift card from Anita Meadows Cannon

Sew, sit back with your beverage of choice, just keep in mind the police will be in full force watching for drunken lewdness as this is a family event! Feel free to watch in costume, as this is a festive hop!! If you have arrived from Theresa's blog on the parade route, then you are sitting at the best seat in the house! If you have just happened to be visiting me today, don't get me wrong as I always love visitors, I would love for you to start at the beginning of our parade route at Lynne, your hostess along with Kimberly, at http://slasewcraftiness.blogspot.com/.

The mask was cut from the Designer Calendar's cartridge on black cardstock. I embossed the handle with Stampin' Up's Melon Mambo. If you have been a follower for awhile, you know I despise glitter. Well, for Miss Lynne I sucked it up used purple glitter on my mask.I added Stampin' Up adhesive pearls to embellish it. I had no feathers so I had to improvise. I used mulberry paper and liquid glue for decoupage and outlined in glitter glue. I added ribbon from my stash and wrapped it around. How fun is this!

Hope enjoyed my float in the parade. To continue on the parade route, Your next stop is Laura's blog. I would love for you to throw me your comments as to my tribute to Mardi Gras! Until next time....

Purplies Design Team: An Inspirational Flower

Happy President's Day everyone. As you can see I have been a busy beaver lately; 3 projects in one day. Of course this one I had a little glitch. The challenge was to make a flower. Well I made a flower and it looked very lonely. So I mounted it on a card. Well, I was just supposed to make the flower and not put anything on it. So I have two things to share. One is my flower I made for the challenge:

I used my Mother's Day bouquet cartridge to make this rose. I am fascinated by roses (or any flowers) that have the colored edges. I wonder if they put them in food colored water??

I love roses but the flower that had the most impact for me was a Hawaiian hibiscus. I went to Hawaii for the first time when I was 19 and left my heart there. I would live there if I could. Here is the flower mounted on a card. This will be a birthday card for my best friend.
Two flowers made with the same cut but different. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will stop by Purplefuntastick Creations to see what the other Purplies have done. Until next time...

Faith Verse Guest Designer

Greetings all. Peace be with you. Today I have the privilege to be guest designer for PurpleFuntastick Creations. The verse that I picked has spoken to me in the past two months. It is:

"You, Lord, are my lamp; the Lord turns my darkness into light." ~Samuel 2:29~

I have to be honest, I could not decide which version of my page that I liked better. I put it to a vote and got various opinions; thus I am posting both versions. Here the are:

The reason this verse is so near to me is that for two months it feels like I am looking through a pinhole to see the little bit of light on the other side. Our family has experienced so much drama lately and it has been quite a lot to take. We have since had one deliverance and we keep praying for another. So, even in the darkness, the Lord has been my light. That is why I felt that the second layout was so appropriate.

I pray that your day is blessed beyond measure. Should you feel that you are in a dark place, know that the Lord is there for you even if no one else is. You all are in my prayers. Until next time...

Love to Create Design Team Post 3

Welcome all to the 3rd challenge for the Love to Create Design team blog. Today's challenge sponsor is:

Michele's Scrapbooking & More  The Pixie Cottage
I cannot tell you how inspiring the stamp I chose was for me. The actual card idea was from a card I saw in Papercrafts Magazine (thanks Miss Lynne for the subscription). I loved the crisp look and elegance of embossing on white and layering. This is my take on the idea:
I really feel that "Less is More" in this instance. I did not want to clutter up the background. The embossing folder is from Stampin' Up and I colored the digi stamp with colored pencils and gel pens. I love the glossy white that the stamp rests on. Both of these layers were popped up with Stampin' Up dimensionals. Thanks Michelle for this wonderful stamp to create with. Please stop by the Love to Create Design team blog and see what the other amazingly talented design team members have made. Until next time...

Purplies Design Team Project 3

Greetings all :)

I had so much fun thinking outside the box for this project. We were challenged to use canvas and I had a 5" x 7" flat canvas. I took Apple Barrel paints and sponged in two different shades of pink (we all know that I love pink and purple). I then turned to my Cricut and tried to find a vase. Well none of them had a vase so I got creative. I used my Cherry Limeade cartridge and used the lemonade cup shadow (I used the gypsy to hide the lemon slice). The flower stalks also were cut using the lower case "l". The flowers were cut from the Mother's Day Bouquet cartridge. Here is the finished product:
Doesn't the background remind you of fabric? Well, I have to say that I am quite happy with the result. I have to decide whether or not to add a sentiment at the top but for now I will leave it. Thanks for coming by and please stop by Kari's blog to see what my fellow DT team members made. Until next time...

We're Off to See the Wizard Blog Hop

We're Off to See the Wizard the wonderful Wizard of Oz to hopefully get the Tin Man a heart, the Lion courage, and the Scarecrow a brain! But there's the poppy fields to beware of as you could get very sleepy! The Wicked Witch but we know she's afraid of water. The flying monkeys . . . just totally freaky looking!!!! You're probably still dizzy from the spinning whirling twirling house and watching all those things passing by like a nightmare expecially that Miss Gulch on her bicycle! Poor Toto hiding in the basket, but can you blame him? Don't pay any attention to the man behind the curtain as he knows not what he speaks! And then there are the delightful munchkins that sing 3 octives highly than humanly possible. I almost forgot the good witch Glinda - how could I forget her --- she was just too sugary sweet to my standards but as a Good Witch goes, she was the best, but why didn't she just tell Dorothy she had the power to return all along and wait until the end - geesh! And then only bad witches are ugly --- come on now! Its the Merry Old Land of Oz! I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore Toto. . . .

We're paying homage to the Wizard of Oz today with our blog hop! So, grab your beverage of choice and those ruby red slippers of yours, click them twice and repeat after me - "there's no place like home, there's no place like home"!

We have a generous sponsor of Creative Kuts of http://creativekuts.com/ who is offering two (2) $10 Gift Certificates to two (2) lucky winners - winners will be selected by Random draw BUT you must leave comments on all the blogs today along with leaving a comment that you are visiting from We're Off to See the Wizard on their blog page, http://creativekuts.blogspot.com/, and/or like their facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/pages/Creative-Kuts/130937843644274

We have a great line-up for you today and you should have arrived from Berenice. If not, or you just dropped in to visit today, we don't want you to miss a single story of the travels of our "characters" from start to finish and would love for you to begin at the beginning of our hop.

My project was inspired by the theme and will be a LONG running project. I have decided to do a totally digital 8x8 Storybook through Creative Memories. This will be a book that will feature a Wizard of Oz picture as the background paper, a quote from the movie and then jornaling. I have created the front cover here:

I am so looking forward working on this book as time goes by. If you want to try digital scrapbooking (which is super easy) you can download the free demo HERE.

As every good story, it has a beginning and a happily ever after - Dorothy went home and all was well with the world and Dorothy told Auntie Em - there's no place like home!!!!!! AWWWW how sweet! Hope you enjoyed my project and I must send you along your way to Inga and a place beyond the rainbow. Until next time...

Guest Designer Day: Lori of Scrappin My Stress Away

Today we have Lori of ScrappinMyStressAway. She is a woman after my own heart as I LOVE anything Disney. I am so excited to share her project. So without any delay, heeerrrreeee'sssss Lori...
************************************************************************

Hi!  Lori here from ScrappinMyStressAway and I am  the Guest Designer today at Susan's Blog.  This month the theme is My Heart Belongs to _______.  Well, I am slowly making progress on my Disney Vacation layouts and figured why not share my love of Mickey with you!!!
I open my Gypsy Mat to 12x24 to lay out my 2 page design.  I start with Mickey Font and sized the letters to 1.46 inches.  I put a heart on my mat from Plantin Schoolbook sized to 3 inches.  I placed a mickey head from Mickey Font sized at 1.21 inches.  I gouped them together (not welded, just grouped) so the Mickey Head would cut out of the heart.

I made a banner with Peace (from Feeling Groovy sized 1.24) Love (heart from Plantin Schoolbook sized to 1.24) and Mickey Head (sized to 1.24).  I welded them together and then copied a second banner.  The width of the banners is 11.50 each.

I copied the banners and heart onto Layer 2 and cut them out of red card stock.

I copied the heart (minus the Mickey head) and the letters onto Layer 3 and cut them out of black card stock.

I adhered the title to my paper - yellow cardstock with a 3 inch red cardstock & Mickey paper pocket at the bottom of the paper.  I pop-dotted the red heart on top of the black heart.

I put the border on the top of the pages.  I made some photo mats and a 4x6 journaling tag.
I used some scrap paper, twine and the red Mickey from the heart to dress up the journaling tag.

The photos are tucked into the pocket.

I added a little twine and ribbon and some photos of Tanner before we boarded our Disney cruise.

I like my Disney pages simple because the photos tend to be bright and busy.  I really love this layout!  Thanks Susan for having me over today!!

Happy Valentine's Day to you all....

Happy Valentine's Day to my crafting peeps. Today is a day to share with everyone you love. Whether it be your significant other, kids, pets, friends, please make sure that they know that they are loved. You never know if it will be the last opportunity to do so. I never leave the house without telling everyone that I love them. Here are some projects I have made for a friend and Hubby's card (and a card I am not giving him ):

First up is my present for a friend:

This is a mini album with friendsh

And here is the rejected card I will not be giving hubby this Valentine's Day:
And here is the one I like so much better:
And here it is with the envelope I made. Going to have to make a tutorial on how to make a simple envelope for a square card from a rectangular regular envelope. Coming soon....

So from our house to your house, we wish you a very Happy Valentine's Day. Until next time...

JME Creations New Design Team Term: Valentine's

Love is in the air my dear friends. Whether you love a friend, family member, spouse, child or pets it is that time of year. I went to town with my Create a Critter cartridge and made not one but two cards. These are for a friend of mine to give to family and friends.

She also wanted something special for her husband. I got the inspiration from my friend Amy's blog, Love to Crop. I mixed it up a little bit though. Here is mine:
I used my Swiss dots Cuttlebug embossing folder and scrap paper. His "hands" were punched with an Itty Bitty punch from Stampin' Up. He just makes me happy. Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you will stop by JME Creations blog and see what my fellow team members have made. Until next time....

I'm a Guest Designer today....

for my friend's Kari's Purplefuntastick Creations blog. I had so much fun with this card. I am all about the bling and this butterfly is just too sweet. I know it is not purple but the theme was Valentine's Day. Here is my card:
I received the butterfly and heart bling in an exchange. I used my Creative Memories Double Heart Chain Border. The papers were scraps and the crochet border is from Stampin' Up. The sketch was given to me by my friend Julie and I made this card a Valentine's order. I have several more to do and am looking forward to it. Thanks to Kari for having me as a guest designer today. Please stop by her blog and show her some love...

Until next time...
