Happy Birthday to my BFF :)

Today is a very special day for my dearest friend, Laurie! We have been friends since 1983 (egads I am dating myself) and we have been there for each other during the good and bad times. I am grateful for her friendship and we know we will be old in rocking chairs in our 80's-LOL!

Happy Birthday Laurie and may this year be as FABULOUS as you are!

Love,

Sue

Need a quick sympathy card?

Good day all and Happy Tuesday!

This past weekend we received news that my son's classmate lost her Dad unexpectedly. I felt so moved that I decided to make a sympathy card for her family. These were also mass produced like the card from yesterday. I make multiples often in these instances. Here is the result:

The stamp set is from Stampin' Up, the paper is old from Creative Memories and the Silver Shimmer Trim  (Z1799), Black and Grey Sparkles Assortment (Z1754) and the Black Exclusive Ink (Z2105) from CTMH. I am attempting to use up a lot of my older paper but know I need some more CTMH stamp sets. I see more coming in my future for sure! Remember, if you are looking for Close to My Heart Products, I would be happy to help you (even tell you how to eatn free and discounted products). You can go to my website HERE or email me HERE. Thanks for coming by and I hope to see you soon. Until next time...

Things are Getting Sketchy Around here....

Greetings all and Happy Monday!

This weekend I spent time with my monthly card making group and it definitely recharged my creative battery. I actually got a lot of cards done this weekend. The first one I want to share is my card for next month's card swap. We were given a sketch to work from and this is what I came up with:

I have used a mish mosh of products on this one. The CTMH products I used are:

 - You Only Live Once (retired Hostess Rewards set)
- Exclusive Inks! Lagoon (Z2195) and Twilight (Z2160)

Card base was in a pack I bought 1,000 years ago (lol). I love the tone on tone look and can see making more of these in different colors. Thanks for popping by. Until next time....

I'm baaaaacccckkkkkk....... (I think)

Greetings and Salutations!

Have you all missed me? I have missed you all! Things are finally beginning to feel like they are somewhat normal since Dad's passing. I went to my monthly Stampin' Up group and we learned a new technique. I am in LOVE with the Framelits dies and embossing. The stamp set is from the Occasions catalog and is called Petite Petals. It comes in wood or clear mount stamps. I used the Square Lattice Textured Embossing Folder. Here is the first card I made:

If you know me then you know that these are not my usual colors. I decided that I wanted to make a second card but a bit different. My friend Erin and I put our heads together for a man card. Two heads are definitely better than one and here is what he came up with:
I used the By The Tide stamp set (also available in wood or clear mount). I had way too much fun. We always have a card swap and these are the ones I received:
Thanks for coming by to share my crafty day. If you are looking for a Stampin' Up rep, I would definitely recommend my friend Julie. You can shop on her website HERE. If you are looking for a Close to My Heart rep, I am always happy to be of service. My website is suenj.ctmh.com. Well off I go to sort my latest order and I will be sharing some pics tomorrow. Until next time....

Crafty Card Gallery's DT Post - Valentines or Love

Good day all:

Today I get to share my Design Team Post for Crafty Card Gallery. The theme was Valentine's or Love. Well I chose to make a Valentine gift for my Valentine. Since it was for my husband, I chose to use non-traditional Valentine's colors. I made a Mini Notebook that I will fill with reasons that I love my hubby. I used the Surf's Up paper Packet, Bakers Twine Neutral Assortment and Angel Friends Occasion Stamp Set. Here is the finished project:

I will be filling the entire mini notebook with all the reasons that I love him. I tell you the second time around is definitely much more enjoyable. Thanks to Crafty Card Gallery for having me. Until next time....
