Paper Patch Crafts Challenge

Look to the sea mateys :) This challenge was right up my alley because I love the ocean. I have been wanting to make this card for awhile and the Peachy Keen Everyday Face Stamps just gave her character. She needed a bow because she is a girl and I used Ranger Diamond Stickles on her Eyes. I also used Stampin' Up's Itty Bitty Background stamps for the tone on tone and the Think Happy Thoughts set for the sentiment. The punches, pink and blue ribbon and the pearl in the center is also from Stampin' Up (love my rep Julie). Here is what I came up with.
Here is an up close pic of the sentiment...
I promise to get to my card fronts done. Until next time....

I was inspired by...

HERO ARTS!!!! Thanks to the Hero Arts 90 Minute Scramble Challenge I came up with this card.
Here are the supplies used:

Hero Arts Stamp It Critters
Stampin' Up Three Little Word  and Polka Dot Punches stamp sets
Stampin' Up cardstock (please don't ask me the color)
Stampin' Up Label and Word Window Punches
Stampin' Up Always Artichoke Stamping Spot
Bazzill Basics Paper Flower Gems (thanks Scrap-a-doodle-doo)

The challenge was to use your least favorite color. Mine is gray as gray days always get me down

Now bring on my card fronts for the June swap :) Until next time....

Another beautiful day in the neighborhood!

Hello all!
I hope that this Saturday finds you well. I am in the Craft Cave and I need inspiration. I have some new stuff that I received and don't know what to do with it I have some card fronts to make for next months Stampin' Up swap but not sure what I want to make. I also have a strong desire to make some different fold cards but am finding that I am lacking a Score-It board. I know that it would make my life so much easier. So anyone want to share some ideas of what I can make next? I have a Cricut Expressions, a Big Shot, A Cuttlebug, heat embossing supplies, and stamps galore. I am sending out an SOS :) So please post your suggestions.
Until next time....

Stampin' Up May Card Front Swap

As promised, I wanted to share the card fronts I received in the swap. Since this is my 3rd post in one day (whew!) it will be a short one. Thanks to Erin (Comfy on My Cloud), Julie (Stampin' Up) and Jean for these wonderful card fronts:
We will be doing another card front swap in June. Until next time.....

A Teaser card for the Royal Purple Freedom Blog Hop....

I had an EXTREMELY productive day in the Craft Cave today. I had projects I had to get done. I am blessed to be an upcoming guest designer on Kassidy's Inking It Up Crazy blog on June 20th and the Royal Purple Freedom Blog Hop on June 10th. I can't show you my real projects but I made a teaser card for the Royal Purple Freedom Blog Hop. Here it is:
I used Sizzix embossing folder and Sizzlets Floral Fusion flower die. The butterfly is a Cuttlebug 2 step die.The stamp, oval punch and pearls are all from Stampin' Up. All the papers are purple. Sorry that the light purple paper looks pink. I inked the flower edges and layered them with pop dots of course! So please join us for this worthwhile cause.
Until next time.....

Scrappy Jak May Cards of the Month

It has been another fun filled month thanks to Scrappy Jack. As you can see, not everything was a card. I just love these mini albums and I am going to have to start to save my cereal boxes now that I have this die from Sizzix. I realized I am missing one of the pages but you can get the idea. I chose Mother quotes and wrote some of my own observations. I hope you like them. Now bring on June!

Until next time.....

Oh how I love my life....

I truly have a wonderful life (no I am not George Bailey ). There are so many blessings in disguise for me. I have a wonderful family who loves me (teens included I hope ). I have talents I have been blessed with. Happiness is a great part of life. Now to work on the good health part (I am so close to my first weight loss goal I can smell it). I also have been the winner of some Blog Candy recently. I want to send a personal thanks to the following bloggers for their generousity:

Heartstrings Designs: http://heartstring-designs.blogspot.com/
$10 gift certificate to Paper Patch Crafts. I received the Echo Park Summer Days paper pack and Maya Road fabric flowers. I cannot wait to head downstairs and play with these!

The Scrapaholic: http://thescrapoholic.blogspot.com/
I will be getting some Close to My Heart Pearls. I love BLING! :)

And last but not least :::drum roll please::::

Erin Lee Creative: http://www.erinleecreative.com/
A 3 month Cricut Circle membership! I almost fell off the bed when I read that I won. It has come at the perfect time when I have more creative time. Now I am praying for the means to extend it after 3 months

I also have to give a shout out to a great friend of mine. Erin at Comfy on my Cloud is my Scrapbook Expo buddy. Well, this year I had surgery the day she was going. She was so wonderful that she made this amazing "Get Well" goodie bag for me (see it here). I have met the most amazing people through papercrafting and love my local gals, Julie, Nicole and Jean.

For now I wish you all much health, happiness and prosperity. May you feel as blessed as I do. Until next time....

Come join our hop for an AMAZING cause.....

Please join us for a hop for a cause that touches so many lives; directly or indirectly. I am privileged to join a phenomenal group of women. Thanks to Faithfule Creations for bringing us together. Here are some details of the hop:
"It is a silent killer that is directly responsible for the deaths of 3 women every day on average.  One in eight women will experience Domestic Violence in their lifetimes and women experience about 4.8 million intimate partner-related physical assaults and rapes every year.  Even more upsetting is the fact that over 3 million children witness violence in their home each year. Those who see and hear violence in the home suffer physically and emotionally.  These statistics are sad and overwhelming, but help IS out there for those that choose to break the silence.
One such place that people can turn to for help is the Bradley Angle House.  With a 1k donation, 24 families can begin the road to recovery from this silent (yet devastating) way of life.  Will you help me help others?  Remember:
I firmly believe that with hope, ANYTHING is possible…including recovery.  I am living proof of that.  My life at the moment is still plagued with stress, turmoil and difficulty, but I am safe and I am happy.  Because of this, my children are now thriving in ways I never knew they could.  One of my favorite scriptures on hope is Lamentations 3:24 that says “The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in Him.”  Let us also not forget Psalms 71:14 that says “But I will hope continually, and will yet praise Thee more and more.”
I haven’t always had the hope that I now do and I know there are other women in my community where I was years ago…hopeless, or feeling like it anyway.  I feel an intensely burning desire to pay all the love and kindness I have received forward.  I want to do my part to help these women find something to hope in or something to hope for.  I believe that while we are anxiously engaged in serving one another, we ultimately then serve God.  He has asked us to be His hands has He not?
I am hosting a Royal Purple Freedom Hop on June 10th.  I have a line-up full of some incredible talent, many of whom have experienced Domestic Violence themselves.  The grand prize for this hop will be a gift basket valued at well over $100.  Some of the sponsors include Robert’s Crafts, Cutter’s Creek, My Creative Time, and generaous donations from hop participants.  More sponsors will likely come on board as well.  As of right now today, gift basket items include a set of My Creative Time stamps, a huge package of 8.5 x 11 card stock, Tim Holtz embossing folders, at least 4 BRAND NEW Cricut Cartridges, some candles and bubble bath, a relaxing CD…I think you get the idea!!!!!
Want some of that stuff?  Want all of that stuff?  Then help me give the gift of hope.  Send a card, with purple as the main color (like in my example above) and a hand-written note to a woman in need on the inside.  Every person who sends a card gets one entry into the basket drawing.  But wait there’s more….receive additional entries for each dollar donation you make to the Bradley Angle House.  Send a card with a $100 donation and receive ONE HUNDRED entries into the gift basket drawing.  Trust me…you DO NOT want to miss out on your chance to win this basket.  Maybe I’ll post a sneak peek of the basket once I get all the sponsor contributions in!!!
All cards must be postmarked by June 30th for inclusion in the drawing and can be sent to:
Royal Purple Freedom Blog Hop
c/o Vicki Smith
P.O. Box 1496
Millbrook, NY 12545
Together we can really make a difference.  To date I’ve averaged more than 1k views of my site  each month…if each of these people gave just $1 we could give 24 families the opportunity to begin the road to recovery.  I hope you’ll help.
I will post a recipe and card details in a separate post."

Please support this cause and help our goal be reached. Until next time....

An oldie but a goodie......

I decided that I wanted to showcase a project I made in the past so I can remake an updated version as well. I have been attending a monthly Stamppin' Up card class for over 3 years now and my demonstrator Julie is a wonderful teacher. I am showcasing this today for You Had Me at Craft's made it myself Monday challenge. Why not come by and join the fun?
It was a fun-filled day with friends and cardmaking. I learned a new technique that I am anxious to try with microbeads. This was made with Stampin Up Sticky page (cut into a strip), scraps of paper and silver embossing powder. I stamped the saying with a Stampin' Up stamp (Oval All) and then free cut ovals with my scalloped edge scissors. The background flowers were stamped with Stampin' Up Versamark. I even made my own envelope :) Hope it inspires you to be creative. Until next time....

Stampin' Up Monthly Card Get Together.....

Thanks to my friend Erin for transporting me (and carrying my stuff) so I could see my stamping friends. We had a card swap where we made 5 card fronts and we were to trade. They were based on a sketch provided and we were given specific colors to use. I will share the pics of what I received tomorrow. After our swap we made this card...
This card spawned the first of the five card fronts for our next challenge. We were to use a square and a border punch. Here it is...
All items used to make this card are from Stampin' Up.

I am submitting these for You Had Me At Craft's Made It Myself Monday blog challenge. Come on over and join the fun.

I am also blessed to have won 2 blog hop prizes recently. The first arrived from Paper Patch Crafts. You definitely want to check out her page. Here is a pic....
And last but not least, I completed my card organizer project. I wanted to share with you some of the insides of the folders. I have decided not to embellish the insides as they are not going to be seen and covered by the cards placed inside.

This last project has me thinking about another project that involves my other current interest; couponing. But that is for another day. Until next time.....

Double the fun project.....

Evening all!

I had some energy today and, thanks to my Gypsy, I was able to make one project for two blogs :) I have participated in Alex of You Had me at Craft's I Made it Myself Monday blog challenge. I also came across Jenny of Crazy About Cricut's blog challenge too! I am always in awe of everyone's creativity. Here is a little background on this project.

I have the most amazing parents. They have always been there for me through many trials I have experienced and even now they are here to support me through my current health and work issues. I felt that they needed a thank you from me. For my thank you, I decided to make a pennant that can hang from their mantle. My Cricut Gypsy and Expressions did the die cuts (good ole George and Basic Shapes and Cricut Classic Font were used). I cut the diamond in half and ran it through my Sizzix Big Shot with the D'vine Swirls Cuttlebug Folder. I cut a piece of kitchen sponge and sponged over the embossing with Stampin' Up ink. The flower is cut from the Hello Kitty Greetings cartridge. I attached the pennants on ribbon from Michael's Arts and Crafts and then used Recollections brads attached with my Cropadile. I have to say that I am pleased with the results. Here they are:
I have already packed it up to mail out to them with some mail. I hope that they like it. I will have another post with a card made at our Stampin' Up monthly club.

I hope you will join me for the Made it Myself Monday challenges as you have plenty of time to complete it

Until next time...

Hidey ho all.....

Just a quick update. Had my surgery yesterday and they could only do half of what needed to be done. They will see if the fibroid is cancerous (slim chance) and the only way to remove it is a hysterectomy. Seems it is pressing on the nerves in my back so that may be another benefit.

I am glad to be home and hubby is taking care of me phenomenally. I managed to go to the craft cave (aka my basement) and continue to work on the project shown in the last video. I have a few cards to make and a banner as well (banner will be small - 8 pennants I think) that I HAVE TO get done. I will be sure to share pics soon.
Until next time

A video for you.....

Greetings to you all. I wanted to make a video to share with you all before I go in for my surgery. Thanks to my amazing hubby (aka Principe films)for outdoing himself again. I think I am going to have to rent his skills out :) Here is a project I have been wanting to do FOREVER. I have the cut files all set up on the Gypsy for the embellishments, title page and month labels. I will be working to finish the whole binder/folders this week. Hope you enjoy it!

Until next time.....

Congratulations Melissa. Please email me at suenj99 at yahoo.com with your mailing address so I can send out your prize.

Until next time

Please get the license plate of that truck.....

Okay, this is a not happy but an "at peace" post. Got some unexpected news that will allow me more crafting time but does nothing for my pocketbook. I am resilient and know that everything happens for a reason. My surgery is Friday and know that this will allow me the time I need to recover. I have been remiss in picking the 200 follower winner and promise to do this tonight. My dearest apologies and I look forward to showing off the creative things that will come forth. For now I wish you all a blessed day :)

Until next time....

I have had a WONDERFUL weekend.....

I have to say that it has been a long time since I have had a weekend where I did things that were fun and left the work behind. A little shopping, a movie and some creating was on the menu. Thank you to my supportive hubby for aiding me in this weekend of R&R. I needed to finish my 3 card fronts from my swap coming up the 22nd and work on my Scrappy Jak projects as well (they are due the end of the month). I can't take pics of my Scrappy Jak projects but, trust me, they will be worth the wait. I had several more ideas but I ran out of time. For now, here are the card fronts I can share:

A HUGE shout out to Provocraft, Stampin Up and Sizzix for aiding in my creative endeavors.

I also was very blessed to receive a new blog award from Gina of http://www.ginascraftingspot.com/. It is the "Your Blog is Cricut-tastic Award". The rules of this award are as follows:

2. My favorite cartridge is Doodlecharms
3. My Pixar cartridge boggles my mind! (anyone want to give me lessons )
4. I can never seem to win a cartridge on Ebay :(
5. I wish to delve deeper in the Cricut community (I would love to participate in Hello Thursdays- hint, hint)

Thanks to Gina for blessing me with this wonderful award.
Here are some wonderful bloggers that I want to share this with:

* Bit By The Cricut Bug

Well, the weekend is over and work will be coming soon. I look forward to sharing more creativity before Friday. Until then....

It was a Scrap-a-Doodle-Doo Day!

Greetings and salutations my scrapping friends! I have to say that today was the perfect day for a road trip. I have the bestest hubby in the world. I have been wanting to go to a scrapbook store in Northern NJ for the longest time. Since we had to have a follow up sleep study (we both HAD sleep apnea) and I had pre-admission testing (surgery is Friday) we decided a road trip was in order. We went to Scrap-a-Doodle-doo in Ramsey, NJ and were greeted by Norma (aka Mama Doodle). We were given a tour of the shop as a private crop went on in the other room. I found some items that I had not seen before and it was Tim Holtz Dreamland. I can't wait to play with my new stuff but decided to post now that Blogger has come back up. Here are some projects that I have made or were made for me in the interim.
This is a card front for a Stampin Up swap we are doing (1of 2)
This is a another card front for a Stampin Up swap we are doing (2of 2). I need to make 3 more!
I received this album for free and decided our grandson needed his own album.  I took  a feminine album  and hid the ladybug with a dinosaur :)
This is the front of my Mother's Day card my hubby made all by himself
Here is the left inside of my Mother's Day Card. He writes so beautifully but I chose not to  show it.
Being as tired as I am there will be no creating tonight. We are settled in and will watch the season (and series) finale of Smallville (what will we do with our Friday night. While it is on I am going to relink all my cartridges since I had to factory restore my Gypsy. Provocraft's customer service was excellent and very helpful. If this restore does not work then they will replace my Gypsy. So please cross your fingers for me.

Remember that the winner of the 200 blog follower giveaway is being picked tomorrow. Please leave your comment on THIS POST (that can be found below). Thank you all for being a part of this blog. Until next time...

Not so Smiley Condolence card.....

This weekend I learned of the loss one of our family members has suffered. Her Dad passed away :( I wanted to make a condolence card but did not want it to be mushy on the outside. I got inspired to pull out the my Gypsy and use the Smiley Cards cartridge that I got for free. Here is  what I came up with:
I was not happy with the eyes so I decided he needed googly ones. The cheeks needed texture too so I pulled out the Cuttlebug and my Swiss Dots embossing folder.
The X & O are also from the same cartridge. Again, it needed some ooomph! So out came the D'vine Swirls Cuttlebug folder and Voila! you have texture. I decided to ink the edges AFTER I glued it to the shadow layer. Silly me! Then I decided that the embossed areas could use some color too. I am sure you have heard the phrase, "Necessity is the mother of invention." Well, since I ended up with a couple of stray marks while coloring, I decided to make some more designs. Doesn't it look like the paper came that way? Maybe I can get a job as a paper designer

This card will be winging it's way across state lines tomorrow. I also started another project but had to stop because we went to the movies (saw Fast Five in IMAX-craaaazzzzzyyyy!). I will have to preview it later in the week. I also need to get my Mother's Day card done too. Lot's to do and not a lot of times to do it.

Remember to scroll down to the post below and try and guess what type of container I used to make the Hershey Kiss gift holder with. You can win a little present. Well, time to go as it is late. Until next time...
