I feel like it is Christmas :)

Hi again all :) I promised a second post because I wanted to share some recent acquisitions that I received. First up is the blog candy that I won from a hop over at Paper Tree House Studio. This came at the most perfect time as I have been organizing my supplies. A HUGE shout out to Wooden Dreams by Sue for this quality product. I received the "The Topper" Stamp organizer and I have started to put in my stamp pads. You can view all these wonderful products (there are more than Stamp Organizers and you won't be disappointed!) I also am blessed with a wonderful friend who shared some of her stamping stash with me too. Another shout out to Julie. She is not only my friend but also my Stampin' Up rep. Some of the stamps in the holder were from her as well. She knows I love to color with my Blender Pens and needed more colors. I am sure she will be blessed for blessing me. Well all, I have to go get some rest as I am feeling under the weather the past several days. I actually have gotten one layout done for the Pencil Lines and   my banner done for the Labor of Love blog hop for September. A RAK and blog candy win.....

I wanted to share some wonderful things that the mailman brought me recently. I have come to make a dear friend from my last blog hop and have come to discover we have a lot in common. I commented on a post on her blog and she shared some of the goodies with me. I also had run out of ink in my white gel pens and she sent those too :) Thank you Lynne for your generosity and friendship. Here is a pic:

 I was also a winner of blog candy from Lezlye of Ink and Paper Creations. The post office lost the original package so she was so sweet and sent a replacement. This has my favorite winter things Christmas and SNOWMEN!!!! I collect snowpeople and this made my day. I even have ideas for some great Christmas cards. Here is the pic of my prize:

Happy Early Mother's Day from Me to You!

Good evening all! I trust that this post finds you all well. We have some wonderful reasons to celebrate! Today is Cinco de Mayo. Sunday we will be celebrating Mother's Day. And we are also celebrating a milestone - 200 FOLLOWERS!! Awhile back I said that we would have a giveaway we hit 200 followers and I am a woman of my word. Details will follow at the end of this post.


I have a very special Mom. It took me becoming a Mom to truly appreciate all she had done for me. So I decided to go out on a limb and try a different type of card for her. I bought the Stampin Up Mom stamp knowing I would used it for her card. The rest was divine inspiration! This was my first time making a gatefold card and I am quite happy with the way it came out. It has been a Scrappingly good two weekends.....

I have to say that it has been a crafty good time here in NJ! I have had two weekends with my favorite Stampin' Up friend Julie (Stampin Up Demonstrator: Julie Kudish) and have made some pretty awesome things (if I do say so myself). In addition to that, I had craft time with our niece Vanessa. She will be turning 4 and loved making cards with Aunt Susan. Here are some pics I wanted to share with you:

 The next day, I went to the dollar store with my sister in law and my niece in law. We saw this damaged saying and Julie turned to me and said, "You good make something prettier!" Well here is what I came up with.....

 Today I went to a stamping up party for one of the gals in our monthly stamping group. This is the projects we made (card was put together by my dear friend Erin (Comfy on My Cloud):

I may not be a Superhero but I know how to mask

I promised a little creativity this weekend and I will not disappoint. On Saturday, we had our monthly Stampin Up card workshop. Our friend and teacher, Julie, decided to teach us a masking technique (Read about Masking here). We had tried this before with a two step flower stamp but she gave us all new ideas with the Butterfly Prints stamp set (http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=120738). Here is a duplicate of the card that she showed us:

This card used three new colors from Stampin Up (Stampin Up Brights Ink Pads, SU Brights designer buttons (these are AWESOME!) and Versamark for that tone on tone look. Then Julie let us loose to come up with our own designs. Well I came up with these other cards using the masking technique:

The tie dye looking card was done with a sponging technique and the same ink pads used to stamp the butterflies in card #1. I ended up with the green when I had to cover a slight booboo.

The yellow card was made the new color, the SU brayer (http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=102395), and I used the Decorative Label punch (see it here) to make the mask. The sentiment is from the butterfly stamp set mentioned above. I think this stamp set has a lot of options and can make some wonderful cards.

I was seriously hoping that my friend Erin from Comfy on My Cloud (Stop by and show her some blog love) would have posted hers but she must be swamped with her current work project. Stampin Up Sale-a-bration class

Last night (after a long day) I attended a card making class for Stampin Up. This was the results of  about 2 hours of work:

This last card uses am interesting technique called spotlighting. I daresay that it is pretty neat technique. The other new thing I learned is to bunch the ribbon! This is so cool. The paper is a new pack from Stampin Up, the ribbon is SU twill tape and the new ribbon flower was sprayed with ink. I enjoy learning new things. Until next time.......
