We're Off to See the Wizard Revisited

We're Off to See the Wizard the wonderful Wizard of Oz to hopefully get the Tin Man a heart, the Lion courage, and the Scarecrow a brain! But there's the poppy fields to beware of as you could get very sleepy! The Wicked Witch but we know she's afraid of water. The flying monkeys . . . just totally freaky looking!!!! You're probably still dizzy from the spinning whirling twirling house and watching all those things passing by like a nightmare expecially that Miss Gulch on her bicycle! Poor Toto hiding in the basket, but can you blame him? Don't pay any attention to the man behind the curtain as he knows not what he speaks! And then there are the delightful munchkins that sing 3 octives highly than humanly possible. I almost forgot the good witch Glinda - how could I forget her --- she was just too sugary sweet to my standards but as a Good Witch goes, she was the best, but why didn't she just tell Dorothy she had the power to return all along and wait until the end - geesh! And then only bad witches are ugly --- come on now! Its the Merry Old Land of Oz! I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore Toto. . . .

We're paying homage to the Wizard of Oz today with our blog hop! So, grab your beverage of choice and those ruby red slippers of yours, click them twice and repeat after me - "there's no place like home, there's no place like home"!

Hope you enjoyed my project and I must send you along your way to Gill's blog and a place beyond the rainbow -

Where are all my digital scrapbooking fans?

Good evening all :)

I delved into the world of digital scrapbooking and I love it as much as traditional scrapbooking. It is the perfect solution for those who lead busy lives but still want to preserve the memories they are making. I know I am preaching to the choir for some and want to share this with others. So, Creative Memories is running a special sale this weekend.  It is for digital packages that are family related and you can view what is on sale by clicking the link HERE

If you are new to digital scrapbooking or want to learn, our Storybook and Memory manager are on sale till the end of the month at 35% off. You can see the software downloads HERE. I promise you that it is so easy to use and you will have beautiful layouts in the blink of an eye.

Are you not sure you want to digital scrapbook but need a way to catalog all those digital photos? Well, I have a solution for you at 35% off as well. With Memory Manager 3.0 you can easily organize, cross-reference and fine-tune your digital photos so they’re ready for your next project when you are. It is available in English only, PC compatible.

Let me help you preserve those memories so that you can share them with your friends and family. Also, stay tuned for some special events I have planned for National Scrapbooking Day weekend (May 5th-6th). Please contact me HERE with any questions you may have. Until next time....

We have a generous sponsor of Creative Kuts of http://creativekuts.com/ who is offering two (2) $10 Gift Certificates to two (2) lucky winners - winners will be selected by Random draw BUT you must leave comments on all the blogs today along with leaving a comment that you are visiting from We're Off to See the Wizard on their blog page, http://creativekuts.blogspot.com/, and/or like their facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/pages/Creative-Kuts/130937843644274

We have a great line-up for you today and you should have arrived from Berenice. If not, or you just dropped in to visit today, we don't want you to miss a single story of the travels of our "characters" from start to finish and would love for you to begin at the beginning of our hop.

My project was inspired by the theme and will be a LONG running project. I have decided to do a totally digital 8x8 Storybook through Creative Memories. This will be a book that will feature a Wizard of Oz picture as the background paper, a quote from the movie and then jornaling. I have created the front cover here:

I am so looking forward working on this book as time goes by. If you want to try digital scrapbooking (which is super easy) you can download the free demo HERE.

As every good story, it has a beginning and a happily ever after - Dorothy went home and all was well with the world and Dorothy told Auntie Em - there's no place like home!!!!!! AWWWW how sweet! Simply Fifty-Two Sketch #08

Hello all and I hope you are having a sweet day! I say sweet because I had been in a cookie and card blog hop this weekend and I have cookies on the brain. For my Simply Fifty-Two layout today, I decided to incorporate these sweet little gingerbread people from Designs on Cloud 9. I can't wait to do them as paper pieced but for now the digi file works for me . Here is the original sketch:
And here is my interpretation of it:
I have to say that I had such a wonderful time with this layout and am looking forward to doing more. I really need to get my own portable hard drive and get my family to take pics instead of using other people's pics. I created this layout using Creative Memories Storybook Creator and digital items from various sources. For those reluctant to try digital, I will tell you that you won't regret it. I still do traditional layouts but digital scrapbooking is quick and portable. If you want to try a 30 day trial of Storybook Creator, you can click HERE. And if you have any questions, please let me know. I hope you will stop by Simply Fifty-Two to see what the uber talented members of the team have created. Until next time...

May I have a Drum Roll Please......

Happy Black Friday all and I hope that your Thanksgiving was a great one!

I hinted earlier in the week to by big announcement and what is bigger than Black Friday (well there is Cyber Monday too). So without further delay, I wanted to announce that I have become a Creative Memories independent consultant! I am so excited to bring high quality product that is different from other companies out there. I have been using their digital scrapbooking software, Storybook Creator, and love all that I can do with it. You can even change the paper color to suit your needs! It is so incredible. If you click the link above you can download the free 30 day trial. If you have questions, just let me know.
The one product I COULD NOT wait to share with you is for those with younger children in their lives. Whether it be your own, a niece or nephew, cousin or grandchild this is a must have for the holiday season. I recently found my memory box in the basement and loved looking through the projects I made and the family newspaper I made with my cousin. Well, the Dear Santa Simply Said book, will bring the child warm memories to share with their family when they grow. They are selling like hotcakes! They are on sale this month for $12.75. Your child completes the book for Santa... draws a map so Santa can get to your house, draws a picture of Rudolph, tells Santa what they did good this year and what they can do better for next year, tells Santa what their family is doing for Christmas, etc.... and at the end has a place for the "Official" Christmas list! A great keepsake! If you would like more information, contact me!!!!

You can preview the pages right HERE. You can order them from this link: Dear Santa. And speaking of Santa, does the Santa in your life not know what to get you for Christmas? Is there something that you specifically want from Creative Memories. Well, I can make that holiday shopping even easier! All you need to do is go to the website HERE and click the shop button. There is something for everyone! Then, just email me at suenj99 at yahoo dot com (replace the words at and dot) with your wish list items and who you would like me to contact (with their email or mailing address). I would be happy to be your personal elf this holiday season.

I will be sharing another post about a special that runs November 25th to November 28th that I do not want you to miss out on. Thanks for sharing my excitement for this new venture and I look forward to being their for all your creative needs. Until next time.....

Simply Fifty-Two Design Team Project: Sketch #6

Greetings all and welcome to Sketch #6 for Simply Fifty-Two. In keeping with the season, Thanksgiving has always played a huge part in my family's memories. We often spend it around my Aunt's wonderfully decorated table (complete with fancy napkins, water goblets and candle sticks) and eat the most delicious food. My parents are usually there also. Now that my parents have moved down South, they are not going to be coming for Thanksgiving this year. This makes me kind of sad BUT I will have them for Christmas this year (last year was the first year that I was not with them in over a decade). Well, I decided that instead of whining, I would make a list of 5 things I am thankful for. Here is my list:

1. Thankful for my wonderful family - immediate and extended
2. Thankful for my health - things could have been worse this year
3. Thankful for the talents that God gave me - I am quite a creative individual
4. Thankful for the friends that I have made here in cyberspace and my real ones locally
5. Thankful for being given another holiday to share with the ones I love

I may not have everything that I want but I do have all that I need. Remember that things can come and go but hold dear the ones you love. My quote on my layout sums it all up: "O Lord that lends me life, lend me a heart replete with thankfulness. ~~ William Shakespeare"

So now that you read this far, here is my layout :
I am very grateful to all of the faithful followers who take the time out of your day to leave me a comment. I would love to hear what you are most thankful for, so please leave a comment below and hop on over to Simply Fifty-Two and see what my fellow design team members have made. Then you can join the fun. Until next time.....

Making Memories Suite Speed Scrap and goodie bags....

Evening all!

I participated in my first speed on Facebook with My Memories. I just could not resist doing a page using pics of my little cousin Quinn. There were approximately 7 steps and they are given one at a time. Here is the page that resulted:
I also made two trick or treat bags for the little ones I sit for. I am not happy with the embossing powder on this paper but it works. Hope they like it:
Please excuse the photo. I used my webcam because I was too lazy to get the camera . Well, time to go off to lala land. Thanks for stopping by and come back tomorrow for a double helping of inspiration. Until tomorrow....

Simply Fifty-Two Design Team Project: Sketch #4

Welcome to a new day at Simply Fifty-Two Designs. I went to town with the sketches this week. I have a Twilight Crazy daughter so decided to use that as my focal point for the scrapbook layout. I created this layout using Creative Memories Storybook Creator.
I also decided to do the card sketch as well. This was just way too much fun.
Well, I am off to the craft cave. Until next time, same bat time and same bat channel.

Guest Designer Day for Her Craftiness

Greetings all!

As my dear friend Lynne is in the hospital after surgery, a few of us hijacked errrrr offered to be guest designers on her blog. Lynne, I am praying for a speedy recovery for you cause we miss you!!!! Remember to leave your get well wishes below so Lynne can read them when she returns.

This season is my absolute favorite. Now don't get me wrong. Spring is beautiful with the trees budding and the flowers blooming but Fall to me is such a wonderful season that holds much beauty of it's own. The leaves changing, the crispness in the air, Thanksgiving... they all give me that warm and fuzzy feeling. What also gives me that warm and fuzzy feeling is my kids. Since I have been playing with my digital software I decided to make this layout of my kids. If you have not tried it, My Memories Suite is a great software. I am also working on learning to use another type of software and will post something from their another time. So without further digressing, here is my project....

Melissa, David and Alex Jr really know how to make me smile. They are at their best when they are playing around. The little one in the middle picture is our grandson, Elijah. His Mom, Yaritza was in the digital layout I did of her graduation. We are proud of all our kids and cannot wait to see how Elijah's personality develops.

Thanks Lynne for having me. I appreciate it sew much :)

Until next time....

Faith Song for His Glory - Sept 14th

Hello Friends!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and I am glad you came to join us for worship! We are here to glorify God in song! :) Kari has started this series that will be on Wednesdays every two weeks to start and today it is the kick-off!! :) woohoo! Welcome! I you came from the fantastic Kari then you are on the right track.

Here is the line-up in case you get lost and I don't want you to miss my designers and their wonderful stories and creations.

2. Susan - http://susanascorner.blogspot.com/ <-- YOU ARE HERE
3. Amy - http://www.lovetocrop.com <--- NEXT STOP

This song has been an all time favorite of mine for so many years. I have been so blessed to have felt God's presence in my life many times when I needed Him. One specific time was sitting in St. Patrick's Cathedral in NYC very despondent. I was sitting in the darkened Church silently crying and praying when this overwhelming sense of peace came over me. Ironically, this experience and God's grace was to manifest itself years later when I wrote a song for my husband to record called, "Willingly". Even now that song is so powerful. I will be able to share it on my blog later. For now, I will share the video for El Shaddai (written by Michael Card and performed by Amy Grant)

I lay no claim to this video except that it touched me deeply.  It was my first time singing solo and I pray that God used me to touch someone else's life as mine has been. I am also submitting this layout for the Creative Team for Pencil Lines (Sketches for Scrapbookers).Until next time, be blessed and hop on over to the uber talented Amy
