Guest Designer Day for Crafty Card Gallery

Good day all....

Today I am guest designer over at Crafty Card Gallery. Our challenge this month was Fall Colors and I decided to piece together a card with some of my favorite stamps and tools. Here is the card I made:

Stamps for Ghost, Pumpkins and Sentiment are from Get Inky! Stamps 2013 Spooktacular Halloween Set. The clouds are from Get Inky! Stamps Whimsical Moon and Stars. The fence is cut with my Creative Memories Border Maker System and the Spooky fence cartrtidge (RETIRED). The buttons are Stampin' Up and the tree was cut with my Cameo Silhouette. I decided to make the ghost peek out from the pumpkins to say BOO! Thanks to Crafty Card Gallery for having me today. Until next time....

Get Inky! Stamps Guest Designer Project

Happy Day all!

Today I get to be guest designer over at Get Inky! Stamps for the Fall Colors Challenge. Well Fall colors makes me think of Halloween and I just had to make this special Halloween Birthday card. There is a special young lady turning 1 and we thought she would be a Halloween baby. Well, she made her appearance on my daughter's birthday on the 22nd and surprised us all! Here is the card I made:

Did you know that you can stamp directly on patterned paper to dress up your stamped images? I learned this from my dear friend Cardmonkey and opted to do this for my card. I used the 2013 Spooktacular Halloween set for the ghosts and the one eyed monster. I decided to cut the fence with black patterned paper too. 

See the sentiment? Well it is actually a combination of two different stamp sets. I used the 2013 Spooktacular Halloween set for the Boo-tiful and the rest of the sentiment is from the Beary Special Cupcake set. I enjoyed making this card and am planning on using this format for a scrapbook page for our grandchildren's Halloween pics. Thanks for coming by and sharing this time with me. Until next time.....

I have to say that I just love this stamp set. I decided to make a box that holds a treat not a trick. I fired up the Cameo Silhouette and got busy. Here is my project:

Facebook Card Swap

Happy Sunday all!

After a good day with the hubs, I just had to share some cards I made for a card swap with my friend Jenn from Craft Card Gallery. I just love how she challenges us creatively and being a part of her monthly group. So when she suggested a card swap I was ALL IN! This month's theme was Halloween. So out came the Gypsy gal and I started creating. Since I have very few Halloween images I had to improvise. I had to make a total of 8 cards and made variations of these few. Here they are:

I just love double sided paper and I am sad I have no more Halloween cards to make . So I challenge you to go grab a piece of double sided paper and some embellishments and see what you come up with.

The paper is scraps from my scrap pile and I used some ribbon I had from last year. This is a 100% recyclable card I guess (lol). Even the pumpkin was from a package of embellishments I bought last year and have 2 left over.

Halloween Spooktacular Blog Hop Day Two

Some have been born too early or with genetic diseases or birth injuries.  Other children suffer injuries later in life that require constant care later, including brain injuries from trauma or loss of oxygen (from choking, suffocation or drowning) and spinal cord injuries.

These children and their families -- and PSC’s staff -- will be thrilled to receive the Halloween banners, to help brighten the season when their friends and siblings will be out trick-or-treating.”

I just fell in love with the new Halloween paper (Monster Mash) from Imaginisce. I went all the way to VA to get it (ok so I was visiting my parents too ) but it was on the local scrapbook stores website (Beach Scrapbooks in Virginia Beach). It has the most incredible canvas printed stickers to match. I used Maya Road's Pennant Book as my base. I found the yummiest black glitter tulle to string it all together. Here is the end result:

Making Memories Suite Speed Scrap and goodie bags....

I participated in my first speed on Facebook with My Memories. I just could not resist doing a page using pics of my little cousin Quinn. There were approximately 7 steps and they are given one at a time. Here is the page that resulted:

I also made two trick or treat bags for the little ones I sit for. I am not happy with the embossing powder on this paper but it works. Hope they like it:

JME Creations Purple, Orange and Green Color Challenge

Woohoo, what great colors for this time of year from JME Creations for this challenge. I am enjoying these challenges and hope you will too. I decided to make a Halloween card because the colors just screamed BOO! Here is my card:

Again my scrap pile got a work out. I hand drew in the details on the witch's hat and robes. I tore the paper for the dirt. The witch and tree were both cut from Mini Monsters. The sentiments were punched from two Stampin' Up punches I own. The sentiment is also hand written as my stamp was too large.

Guest Designer over at Her Craftiness

Greetings all :)


I am blessed to be Guest Designer at Her Craftiness' blog. The theme was Autumn Splendor or Trick or Treat. I started with an Autumn idea but it morphed into a Halloween project. The best part is this cost me less than $5. The frame was on clearance for $1.99, the orange paper was in my scrap pile, the pumpkin stickers were 50% off and the witch (from Craftsmart) was stamped on the white side of the frame insert. The bling was in my stash for a long time as well. Here is what I made:

JME Creations Design Team Owl Challenge

Okay, I have to admit it was cheesy. I was remarking yesterday to my family that (for someone who has always disliked Halloween) I make the cutest Halloween cards. When given this challenge I was originally going to make  a plain old owl. Then I thought, "Why not make an owl with a Halloween eye mask?" Well, that thought flopped because I did not have a Cricut cartridge with an eye mask. So then I thought, "Since Halloween in coming, why not make him a Wizard (this is after looking at Harry Potter-like digi stamps). So Harry the owl was born! 

The owl is from Create a Critter of course (we know that is my absolutely favorite cartridge). The background paper I had in my stash and I cut the little bats at 3/4" from the Hello Kitty Greetings cart (I hid their faces). I believe the hat is from Mini Monsters as is the Spooky tree. I used my gold gel pen to embellish his hat and silver to outline the tree and give the bats smiles. I have to do cutesy things to like a Halloween card. The pumpkin is from a Jolee's Boutique Dimensional pack (Funny Pumpkins) and I just tore the green paper to make hills and used Ranger Ink's Silver stickles for ooomph! Guest Designer Day: Welcome Lori Johnson Apgar

Hidey ho all :) It is another Guest Designer Day at Susana's Scrappin' Corner. I have to say that I have the most talented cyber friends! Lori graciously agreed to be guest designer today and what a treat she has for you. So may I introduce you to Lori of Scrappin' My Stress Away (isn't that the most awesome name!):

Hi this is Lori from ScrappinMyStressAway!  I am honored to be a guest designer today for Susan at Susana's Scrappin Corner.  I first met Susan during her birthday blog hop!!  I have been in a composition book altering mood lately and decided to make a Witch one!!!

I started out with a blank book that I found at Target.  Right now they are on clearance!!

I took 2 matching Halloween papers and traced the front and back covers on them and cut them out.

I used my ATG gun to adhere the paper to the front and back.

I smoothed out the paper with my hand.

I used my new Martha Stewart punch to create this spiderweb border strip.  I am loving this punch!

After the first punch, you just line up the pieces on the side and punch again.

I cut a strip of orange paper and wrapped the spider webs around the ends and glued them down.

Then I glued down the orange strip to the side of the cover.

I got out my Gypsy and found this witch and saying on Happy Hauntings.  I cut them out in black cardstock.

I always save the negative paper to use as a template.

Here are the cuts.  I run the words through my Xyron to make them sticky.

Then I put the negative piece down where I want my cuts to go.

I put the words in one at a time.

I slowly pull away the paper.

I glued down the witch and put a little purple stickles on the brim of her hat.

A little black and white twine finish the cover.

JDS Kids Challenge

Evening all :)

It is a rare occasion that I get to create with my children. My son David decided to enter the Jens Digi Stamps Kids Challenge. He is 13 and I know that I will eventually lose him to girls but for now he still loves his Mom. I have to say that he colored this quite well and I helped pick out the papers (I have a lot of choices and that overwhelms him sometimes). I am all about teaching our children our crafts otherwise you end up with a dying art. I want them to realize that it is not all about the store bought card or gift. More times than not, it is the thought that goes into something handmade that make an impression. So here is David and his card:
