Hurray!!! I can finally post this....

Greetings all and I hope that this blog post finds you well. I have a little confession to make. I was a but late sending my Mom her Mother's Day card (okay it was by 1 day but it was still late LOL). Well it took a bit extra time as I wanted to make the inside as thoughtful as the outside. 

I have been experimenting with new types of cards to broaden my skills and came across this Herringbone card. Well it screamed QUILT! to me the first time I saw it. Since my Mom loves to quilt (and especially applique), I knew I had to make it for her. I cut the strips a 1/4" wide to give it a scrappy quilt feel. Here it is: 

The heart reminded me of applique. The supplies I used are as follows:

- CTMH Blooming Heart (M1049)
- CTMH Artfully Sent Cricut Collection Stamp for sentiment (Z3017)
- CTMH Blossom Paper Packet (X7196B)
- CTMH Exclusive Inks! Stamp Pad Black (Z2105)
- CTMH Surecut Deluxe Craft Paper Trimmer (Z1783)
- Colored pencils

I watched a video on Youtube to get the gist and then went to town. Inside was a note for her that included 3 of the many reasons we love having her as a Mom and Nanny. Mission accomplished as she loved the card and thought to herself it would make a really great quilt design.

Na Na Na Na Na Na..... today is your birthday....

Greetings all! Sue B here sharing a birthday card I made for my Baby Bro who turned 30 (boy I am old!). I always try to do something Beatles or The Joker from Batman. This year I am doing both. Here is the card that I made:

I am in love with the Trace and Cut on my Cameo Silhouette. The stamps I used were from Close to My Heart (Curlicue Alphabet Birthday stamp sets from the Artfully Sent and Artiste Cricut Collections) I really like how this came together and I pop dotted the Happy Birthday Banner. Hello Cute Koala....

I made a card awhile back with this stamp set and just had to have it. It is a baby oriented set but I wanted to show how it can be used for other types of cards. The label can be cut on your Cricut using CTMH's Artfully Sent Cricut Collection. The sentiment is from the same collection.

Here is the card I made:

I stamped the image with CTMH's Slate Exclusive Ink pad, colored the image with colored pencils and markers and embellished with bling I received from the Cropper's Delight My Favorite Things crop. The embossing folder is an older one I had but you could use CTMH's Floral Embossing Folder. I just love this came out and plan on using this set a lot more.

First Valentine's Card of 2015

and I am sure it won't be the last. I received these pearls from Cropper's Delight's My Favorite Things crop and wanted to use them on a card. I received these hearts from my Secret Sister from last year's MFT Crop. Would you believe there are no die cuts on this one? The stamp sets are from Stampin' Up (love) and the Happy Valentine's Day is from Close to My Heart's Artfully Sent Cricut Collection (1 of 3 stamps set that come with this collection). Holy Moly Macaroni! Has it really been THAT long?

Greetings to all my friends out here in Cyberspace. I cannot believe that I have not refreshed my blog since May 24th. A little thing called life kind of intervened. Lots of changes going on in the Casa de Bermudez. I lost a Dad, regained a daughter, changed positions at work (new hours) and have embarked on being healthier. I am sure many of you can sympathize. As many changes that go on in my personal life, there are some changes coming to Close to My Heart that I am SUPER EXCITED about. The first thing is that there will be a new ANNUAL catalog. I have had a chance to preview it and am making a list and checking it twice. One of the items that is at the top of my list is the new Cricut Collection, Artfully sent and will be available sometime in August. I will keep you posted as to the date for sure. This Collection includes 3 coordinating stamp sets and special features like 50 Pop Up cards, 100 icons, shapes and phrased and White Daisy 12 x 12 Cardstock and so much more!
