I have to tell you that I LOVE cupcakes. All shapes, sizes and flavors. To me they are just the right size for a little sweetness. So when I learned about the cake challenge from Get Inky! Stamps, I knew I had to come up with something special. Well it had to be extra special as this was a card for someone special. I used the Sew Sweet Cupcakes stamp set and took out some paper I bought "just because". I stamped the image twice so I could layer and make it seem like frosting. Here is my card closed:

Of course my Cameo Silhouette came in handy. The brad holding the card open is from Kathy Davis Studios Happiness set. I am looking forward to another day at KD Studios soon. I think that it is just what the Dr ordered. I am home from Dad's surgery and cannot tell you how grateful I am to all my Facebook and IRL (in real life) friends that were sending good thoughts and prayers for Dad. He came through the surgery and progressed so quickly that it is nothing short of miraculous! I won't keep you with all the details but he was sitting up, talking and watching his favorite TV shows less than 24 hrs after an 8 1/2 hour of surgery and was not on a respirator to celebrate his 71st birthday!
Since his Dr's were AMAZING, I thought I would make a card in honor of their work and dedication. I am involved in a card swap later in the month and made this card with the Dr's in mind. I did not design it but used a cut file from the Silhouette Store. I love Valentine's card colors and am partial to them. Here is the results of my therapeutic time.....
I am thankful that prayers do work and I still have my Dad here. No matter what comes, we will face it together. That is what FAMILY is all about. I hope that you find something that brings you JOY today. Until next time.....

It is time for another challenge as a member of the Crafty Card Gallery's design team. We were challenged to use an office supply in our card. When I saw this Spare Parts paper clips I knew I just had to use them. I had a wonderful time shopping in Hobby Lobby with my friend Deneen and she helped me decide on the papers. For the lettering I cut it from my Cameo and wanted the letters to stand out on their own. The pink bling is also from Spare Parts. I definitely have to make more use of these as well. Here is what I came up with:

Holy mackeral! What a red letter day for me. As many of my followers may know, I have participated in many blog hops and sketch challenges with Jennifer of Craft Card Gallery. She had decided to have her very own design team and I applied with an article I had written and the cards made for it. Well I am happy to say that I have been chosen to be part of her Inaugural Design Team!!! I am honored to be a part of it as Jennifer has inspired and challenged me over the years. She also encouraged me to use the Cameo Silhouette. So in honor of this very talented woman, I made this card:
Sorry for the not so good picture but I was so happy I cut it out right on the first try that I had to take a pic right away! The cut file is from the Silhouette Online Store and I cannot wait to try some other cuts too. Look for more posts using this amazing little machine.
