JME Creations Snowman Challenge

Greetings and salutations my fine frosty friends (try to say that 5 times fast). Today I have another post and this one is the Snowman Challenge for JME Creations. I have to say that I love snowpeople (I think I said that several times). I made these cards for a commission I received. Here are two of the 35 I was asked to make:

I cut the journal tag from Elegant Edges and inked and sponged the edges. The snowman was cut from Doodlecharms and I used my Stampin' Up punch for the crochet lace border. The bling is my Stampin' Up rhinestones. The snowflakes and sentiment stamps are from Fiskars. I hope you enjoyed my cards and hope that you stop by and see what the rest of the team has made. Sweet Stamping Treats New Dollar Day Sale

Greetings all and welcome to a fabulous Dollar Digi Day over at Sweet Stamping Treats. I love this wreath as there is so many options for it. Here is what I made:

I decided to use the digi stamp as a tag for a present card. I made the card on my Gypsy by welding the two presents from Doodlecharms (I had to flip one image). The patterned papers are from My Minds Eye. I decided to use real ribbon for present. I colored the digi with colored pencil and marker. I used Distress Stickles on the bow of the stamp and red Stickles for the berries on the wreath. I just love this card and will be sure to make more :)

JME Creations Turkey Time

Good morning all and welcome to another JME Creations design team day. The theme is Turkey Time and I love some turkey. So for my project I decided to make a realistic looking turkey. Here is my card:

I cut my Turkey from Provocraft's Doodlecharms cart and the Give Thanks is from Designer Calendar. I wanted the tray to be gold so I covered the white with my gold metallic gel pen. The patterned paper is from Creative Memories (I believe) and the cardstock base is from Stampin' Up. The leaves are stickers from Jolee's Boutique. I decided to sponge the sentiment so it did not look so flat. I hope you will hop on over to JME Creations to see what my other creative team members have made. Until next time....

It's Been a CHALLENGE-ing Day

Hi all! I have to say that I think I am going through a major infusion of of creative mojo! I do not think that I have done a project a day in AGES! Today I have a two-fer; one project being submitted for two challenges. Emma's at My Creative Time and Jenny's at Crazy About Cricut. I used my Doodlecharms cartridge to make this adorable bookmark. Since I have no cartridges that have bookmarks, I had to create this one on the Gypsy. My Cuttlebug got some love again today with the Swiss Dots folder. I had the party hat paper in my stash forever and all the other paper was in my scrap pile. I really need to organize my scraps a bit better as I spend more time digging through the pile. Again, I got a little crazy decorating this sucker. I used my gel pens for the dots and inked the edges with my Stampin' Up markers. I had to use my new Sakura white paint pen as I forgot to ink the edges before I pop dotted the "Shhhhhh" . Here is the final result:

Now onto some exciting news. My dear friend Lynne of Her Craftiness and I will be hosting my first ever blog hop. Our Anything goes Festive Birthday Bash Blog Hop will take place on September 3rd and will have 10 wonderful bloggers participating. I have to say that I am so enjoying my 40's that it is a great reason to celebrate. I hope you will join us as there will be lots of great ideas. It's Been a Ducky Day.....

Hello all. I have been having way too much fun being creative lately. I have continued my journey in trying to learn new things. The catalyst for today's posting is my good friend Lynne of Her Craftiness. We all came together on my last blog hop and have come to know that we have loads in common. So with no further adieu, let me share with you the two projects I made for her blog.

Papers used:

12 x 12 Blues from Classics Cardstock (3)

Yellow Ducky Paper from AC Moore (1)

Blue Shimmer paper from Elizabeth Craft Designs (1 1/2)

"Deep Sea Diver" Bubble Paper from Reminisce's Under the Sea Collection

Embellishments:

Jolee's Boutique Dimensional Stickers

Cuttlebug and D'vine Swirls Embossing Folder

Rubber Duckies from Michaels clearance section (2 ducks for a buck)

Additional items:

Red Sticky Tape

Permanent Adhesive 

Pop Dots (my favorite!)

Corner rounding punch

White scrunch ribbon 

Directions:

To make the box, I took the  three sheets of blue cardstock and cut them to the following dimensions:

9 x 9 inches
8 5/8 x 8 5/8 inches
8 ¼ x 8 ¼ inches 

I then took my Martha Stewart Scoring Board and scored the pieces as follows:

Score the 9 x 9 sheet, 3 inches in from each side

Score the 8 5/8 x 8 5/8 sheet, 2 7/8 inches in from each side

Score the 8 ¼ x 8 ¼ sheet, 2 ¾ inches in from each side 

I then cut off the 4 corners at the scored lines and was left with a cross.

The box assembly is rather easy. I decided to take my layers and use my corner rounding punch on them. I decorated each layer with different paper (rounding the corners and then used my red Sticky Tape to adhere the middle layer to the bottom and the top layer to the middle. I added a little surprise in the middle that you will soon see.

For the lid, I took my bubble paper and cut a piece 6 ¼ x 6 ¼ inches. I scored it 1 ½ inch in from each edge. The corners can be scored on the diagonal and then folded to create your lid (I think I should make a box video soon) and then I used my permanent adhesive to tack the edges down. You can also cut one of the scored corner lines and fold in the edges as well. This is what I did not the last box.

And , Here it is open. Isn't the ducky sweet? (I felt like Emeril there for a minute) Of course you can leave out the ducky and put a gift card as a baby gift or a thank you for a pool party invite. The possibilities are endless. I think I want to make a birthday one next. 

Here is a little bonus project for you too that I designed on the Gypsy. The cartridge that I used is Provocraft's Doodlecharms cartridge. The popsicle I used was copied and then flipped the image and welded the two together with a rectangle to form the card. The card size ended up being 6.96 x 5.03. The orange is sized at 3.69 x 5.00. I hid the cuts on it so it was solid. I inked the edges with marker (I really need more ink pads) and stamped the faces on a 1 1/4" circle I cut using the Provocraft George and Basic Shapes cartridge. The sentiments I had to handwrite as we are out of printer ink. Here is the end result....

It was a challenge day!

Today was a wonderful day off. Last year we had a scrapping get together and ate beforehand. Today we added one more friend to the bunch! Nicole, Julie, Erin and I had a wonderful afternoon. I decided to make cards for some online challenges instead of scrapbooking today (we will be at an all day crop later in the month). I wanted to share them with you.
